Nike Makes a Play to Outfit German National Team

It is hard to imagine Germany’s football team wearing anything other than Adidas, but evidently the Swoosh empire is looking to change that. The details of Nike’s offer to outfit the German national team are not public, but according to those in the know it was “a commercially very interesting” offer. In other words, Nike offered a buttload of money.

Personally, I could largely care less about who supplies the various national teams with their kits as long as Lucas Podolski wears a shirt. I would think that some in Germany might have a different view, however, and I can’t imagine that a move to Nike would be greeted with flowers and candy.

Gotta love that picture. And as far as I’m concerned, Nike, Adidas, Puma, can all go die! Thanks for ruining soccer!

Darn, I thought FIFA, Sepp Blatter and the EU ruined soccer. If Germany switches to Nike, then heads will roll for abandoning their home brands Puma and Adidas.

Wow, you have got to be kidding. Germany in Nike? That’s like Kobe Bryant wearing Keds. That can non happen.

Germany wearing nike? If Germany were to change, at least change into something else besides Nike. I thought they would be Puma or something, but Nike?
    Its crazy.
