Nerds FC

We have to admit that we aren’t huge fans of reality television shows. The people are annoying, the concepts silly and the sadness that overcomes us because we weren’t chosen to participate is unbearable. But we might have a look at Nerds FC, a reality show that has been shown in a number of European counties and has now made its way down under. In Australia the show takes 14 academically talented, but athletically limited adults, and turns them into a lean, mean soccer team. Watching them get brutalized by the Young Matildas, Australia’s U19 women’s side, sounds like just the type of horror show that we would enjoy. Of course, the show would be really interesting in if pitted Nerds FC against last-ranked American Samoa. Maybe this is how America Samoa has selected its team for all these winless decades?
