Moviegoers to be World Cup’s Biggest Losers

In the battle of Hollywood vs. Football, the Beautiful Game has already won. Instead of competing directly for audiences with the World Cup, movie executives say that they are going to shuffle around their release schedules to avoid empty theaters in non-US markets. As a result, June will be a month where we see movies released that are aimed at women, children and those who aren’t smart enough to realize that the World Cup is the best freakin’ thing on this planet. Too bad the World Cup doesn’t last forever. We don’t know if we can stomach another movie starring Jennifer Aniston.
