[...] This game is massive for Ukraine who will be desperate for a win in Group H. After the drubbing they got from Spain, hoping to get through on goal difference isn’t really an option. Shevchenko will be looking to make his mark on this World Cup and I expect to see goals from him today. [...]

"The pessimism of the Spaniards about their seleccion is amazing. Its like they are now afraid to hope!"

I'm not pessimist about our possibilities, but when I remember Mexico 86, I think we have to be more grounded. Our team has had a great debut and I really enjoyed it yesterday, but now it's time to beat Tunisia and Saudi Arabia, in order to prove we can keep the game skills that our team showed yesterday.

Anyway, thaks for supporting our team from the Philippines :)

Man but McDon-aldo, c'mon. Baggio? Maradona? You're only talking about two of the greatest players the game has ever seen. Talent like that is extremely rare, except maybe in Brazil. It's like complaining that Jordan, Bird and Johnson aren't in the NBA anymore. What's your point? People get old. It happens.

Spain has shown flair. Argentina has shown flair. Germany has shown flair. The Czechs look like a well oiled machine. Mark my words, new legends will be made this cup. Count on it.

Roland, nice call (gotta pay that)

Maybe its me, and yeah 86-90 were rugby tournaments in comparison, but still, there is a lack of flair here (its not SPAINs fault in this match per se, its the player who did it, but by rewarding diving, you encourage it - so I blame the player and FIFA more so for doing nothing to fix it.

I wouldnt watch if I didnt love football. So I will stop bitching, but watch for one sidedness in ref decisions, there is a lot more of it than most people are probably noticing, and the football is getting scrappy.

There were some beutiful player in 1990, savicevic's plays to stojkavic were awesome, baggio was great too, maradona was on point. Only guy I have seen who has REALLY IMPRESSED me is Ronaldo the Portugese lad, he is awesome. Ecuador and Croatia are also looking good.

Anyway champ, Video ref, and a red card for diving is the only way to fix this mess I think (not going to happen any time soon so long as FIFA wants to profit from these big clubs doing well commercially and so to bringing revenue for FIFA - What revenue would FIFA get from Trinadad doing well? better for them that England does best in that group as they will get more more).

Anyway champ, better start making that wine, may as well get some happiness. Thanks for the joke, enjoy the cup champ...Cant wait for argentina vs serbia, should be fun.

yah..i just can't see the 1990 world cup having a better level of play than this one..

and 1994 was not that great either... with brazil playing cynically

so far this cup looks quite good..certainly better than 2002.. remains to be seen... its only going to get tougher for the refs... the games are only going to get tighter...
