i've say that the correct result would be 1-1 :-) I mean. a bad luck own goal and a strange goal got 'cause of this new funny ball's... Portugal played very well and dominated Germany for most of the game, even in number of chances to score, but we really had bad luck on those 2 goals. Hev to say too that, bottom line, Scolari's to defending kinda coach and made some poor choice like N.Valente, Costinha, Pauleta and even Deco who played nothing. Scolari should risk more playing with a lot more guys on the box. Have to say too that, no matter the lucky 2 goals germans had loast night, they played best football in the WC, much better than Italy or France.

I just want to say that Oliver kahn the german goalkeeper is The Best goalkeeper to be ever witnessed playing...it was a shame he was second in line ....yet showed game in this battle for 3rd place....i hope he stays on for 2010 World Cup.. By then he will turn 41 years of age and yet he will still be one of the best...ALL HAIL KING KAHN..the pwner of all goalkeepers and goalkeeping itself...i would also like to add that O Kahn is the only goalkeeper to ever receive man of the match award(2002 world cup) hence he is a legend of soccer..and in my opinion should be honoured for what he has acheived...Yes, italy had its luck just scraping through Australia and beating germany 2-0 in whihc Kahn was not playing....Jens Lehmann is no less of a champion himself..he truly showed the world what he is capable of especially against argentina..and i truly beleive he is excellent..but Kahn should of been the starting goalkeeper....I would also like to add it was a shame the czech republic rated 2nd in the world was kicked out first round.. also netherlands rated 3rd in the world...and what about brazil...why wasent it playing so well this world cup..........i just would like to add that france will triumph against all odds..i know that italy has the best defence their is having the best center backs their is..but france has one of the best attackers in the world zidane, thiery henry, viera and so on..so it will be a battle for a title that cannot be missed....VIVA LA FRANCE!!

The amount of cards was due to the Netherlands game... in 25 fouls the referee showed 20 cards... is that normal? Think! And is there any rule stating that fouls cant be made? Its called a tactic foul. They were playing with 3 defenses, would you let German attack pass through and suffer a goal? ANY team does that unless their players are st*pid. Or is there any team that doesnt commit fouls? Thus, about two of those fouls were dives from the Germans as well. I dont really see the point on this discussion. And whats that "knocked out Pele" bul**hit? Like if it was on purpose, like the Netherlands player that knocked Ronaldo? You dont talk about that? Of course you dont, they are not called "Portugal". Think and get real, suddenly all teams play clean and Portugal is the scape goat everyone including FIFA. All of the others play clean. Sure! If you are happy thinking that, go ahead because we dont give a sh*t.

And guess what, we are a small country but we dont go so low like all of you and your arrogant press. Today we received our players with thousands of people chanting we are the champions. Even with a loss against Netherlands or England the same would happen. No excuses would have been created from the newspapers and tv channels, and no one would be "banned" from the country. Because, those comments saying we play dirty, are even MORE dirty. But guess what, no one cares, and in two years when everyone forgets your excuses we might think about winning again. Bye and good luck for Italy and bad luck for arrogant France. One of our fans got killed there by the way, for celebrating. Another one in England. But who cares about that?

PTadebt I didn't say Portugal wasn't successful in soccer. What I said is that you guys play dirty and you have for the last 40 years. You knocked Pele out of the 1966 world cup and the number of cards you got this world cup shows you are up to your old tricks. In the last 15 minutes of the first half all your defense could do was foul our players outside the penalty box. It was one vicious foul after another. Portugal had an unbelievable number of yellow cards and don't blame the ref. Your team chose to retaliate against the Netherlands and paid the price. A classy side wouldn't have gotten down into the gutter with the Netherlands. The only thing I have in common with England is that they trained in the city of my birth Baden-Baden. Ich bin Deutscher und nicht ein Englaender.

All the games are good but maybe the player are tired of previous club games, for example most italy players play in their own league so there are advantage on them

Klin's should take the job in america........ His german performance was fine but others may have done better during the last two minutes of the game against italy.......
Also, Mr. Ballack should take notes from other Captains (Mr. Z) and his team would have won it all!! To bad it was Oliver Kahns last game...... now he truely is a titan and is the reason german was ony a few inches short!
