LiveBlog: Argentina-Serbia and Montenegro

A wonderful display of clinical finishing saw Argentina put six goals past a hapless Serbia & Montenegro, who finished the game with ten men. We saw almost the full repetoire of Argentina’s arsenal and nearly all of them scored. They treated us to the team goal of the tournament, gave Maradona the chance to repeatedly dance in front of a billion people and sent a loud and clear message to the rest of the teams. You don’t want to play us!

Final: Argentina 6-0 Serbia and Montenegro

Full-time: The whistle of mercy has blown and S&M’s misery is over. Their first and last World Cup has not been kind to them. Argentina have sent a message to all other teams in the tournament that you want to avoid them as much as you’re able.

89:44 – Who would have picked this result. Awesome display by a quality team. Argentina was as perfect as you can be. Holland will be very concerned if they need to squeeze a result from the next game.

87:45 – GGGGGGOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!! Crespo – Tevez, Tevez to Messi. Messi slots home for number six. The first World Cup goal for Messi and not the last we’ll see no doubt. We saw it here first.

87:06 – Crespo nearly gets his second but denied by a fine save by ‘keeper Jevric.

85:24 – Argentina not even trying that hard and the goals keep coming. Messi shows a nice burst of speed. Argentina content to keep the ball, S&M content to not have them score again in the final minutes.

82:26 – GGGGGGGGGOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!! Tevez skips past two defenders and into the area, one with a nutmeg, and slots it past the ‘keeper for Argentina’s fifth goal. This is getting embarrassing. The game can’t end soon enough for S&M.

81:37 – More keep-ball from Argentina. Fans in full voice iaround the stadium.

80:04 – Not a bad introduction to the game, provide the pass to set up the fourth goal for your team with about your second touch of the game. Messi looking to steal the headlines from Rodriguez.

77:50 – GGGGGGGOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!! Messi nice run into the penalty area and a perfect put back across the face for Crespo to finish and get his required goal. Ball went through the legs of Gavrancic on its way to find Crespo.

76:55 – Defender Gavrancic taking matters into his own hands with a driving run up the wing and a decent shot from the corner of the area that hits the side netting.

74:00 – Maxi Rodriguez gets a reward for two goals today with an early shower. First look at this World Cup of wunderkid Lionel Messi. Argentine fans must be happy to see him.

73:00 – Riquelme beautiful back flick to release Crespo who is brought down in the area. I think it was a penalty but not given by the ref. If Argentina was not 3 goals up already, I think we would have seen it given, strange as that sounds.

71:48 – Keep-ball has begun. Argentina not pressing, just keeping the ball away from 10-man S&M. Ole’s in the crowd as we watch this football clinic.

70:00 – Argentina look somewhat vulnerable to a ball to the far post. Their defensive system has them leaving that guy open until after the ball is on its way out there. Not unusual, but they don’t move over as quickly as I would like if I was an Argentina fan. Other teams take note.

68:33 – Some nice possession by S&M but it goes nowhere. Montenegro can hold its head up high that they’ve barely contributed to this World Cup performance.

66:40 – Nice run by Tevez into the box but he’s shut down and has to come back out.

64:00 – S&M pumpoing hopeful long balls into the Argentina box. El Pato will deal with those all day. Kezman gets his second yellow and this game is effectively over. Kezman sent off for a nasty tackle on Maxi Rodriguez. Shame for S&M, but no complaints about that card.

62:12 – Riquelme penalized whiloe trying to retain possession. Was just thinking he was doing so well keeping the ball during this game, not giving it up cheaply. Will we see Aimar replace him today? Or will Pekerman go with a more defensive player to batten down the hatches, kill this game off?

60:15 – 3-0 Argentina. S&M pressing forward a bit more. The game being played more in Argentina’s half so far. Hopefully they will not just sit back and play on the counter attack. That would be a bad way to end what has been an entertaining game to this point.

57:40 – Damn, I was right. Saviola coming off for Tevez. Makes sense for The Peckerman, but sad to see Saviola go. Now we just have to wait for the introduction of Messi and all the planets will have aligned.

56:40 – Shot of Tevez on the bench. Looking like a caveman with the long hair, we should get to see his fantastically ugly mug in this game very soon. Hopefully not at the expense of Saviola.

56:01 – More on Ljuboja’s hair. The bleached stripes he’s got there are a bit unfortunate cos they look like a bald patch from where we’re sitting. Cambiasso should be so lucky.

54:40 – Riquelme hits the huge wall. Skunk-boy breaks up the line and provides a nice cross which is played back across the area. The S&M striker Milosevic gets his head to it but cannot direct the ball goalwards. Nice counter attack by S&M and a reminder to Argentina to leave someone at home while they go play.

53:15 – Hard foul on Rodriguez on the edge of the area by Igor Duljaj. No surprises there’s a guy called Igor on ths team. Perfect position for a Riquelme special. A 7-man wall for S&M.

51:02 – More attackig from Argentina. Nice interplay by Riquelme on the edge of the area and the balls bobbles into the box but Argentine attackers are offside.

50:45 – Shot by Crespo, deflected by a defender and well saved by the ‘keeper. Crespo is due to score in this game and he came close there.

48:35 – Foul by Saviola tackling back. I like his work rate. Koroman coming off, perhaps to save him from getting another yellow card. He is replaced by Ljuboja who has seen how much S&M stink on the field and gone with a skunk hairdo.

47:18 – A couple of jinking runs by an S&M player with long hair. Cannot see his number. Gets nothing from the referee when he runs out of steam and falls over at Argentinian contact.

45:36 – Second half underway and S&M come out fighting. Savo Milosevic cracks one that’s well saved by El Pato, the Duck. I can’t spell his bloody name.

Half-time Highlights: Once again, each of the three goals were beautiful to watch. Crespo was onside and Argentina is the first team at the World Cup to score three goals in the first 45. Everyone has been jumping off and on the Riquelme bandwagon will have to put up with him a bit longer as the players come back onto the field. He’s been very solid this game, distributing well and always being an option for the guy on the ball. That’s the perfect game, even if he’s not the one providing the killer pas to set up a goal. Second half about to begin.

Half-time: Wow, what a display by Argentina. I thought they were solid but average against Cote d’Ivoire, doing just enough to win but not much more. Clinical finishing but not creating that many chances. Again in this game Argentina has not created that much, but when they do, look out! Superb movement, pin-point passing and a confidence in front of goal. I’m trying to think of some chances that went just wide or saved by the ‘keeper and I can’t think of any. Anything they’ve put on goal they’ve scored.

Not much to say for S&M. They’ve had to defend a lot this game, but their vaunted Fearsome Foursome, although depleted, has leaked more goals than I’ve had beers during this liveblog. Eveything about that statement does not bode well for the second half of this liveblog.

45:18 – Argentina’s defense has not really been tested by S&M but what they have had to deal with they have with a minimum of fuss. The game against the Dutch should be more strenuous, but it doesn’t look good for Group D runner-up. Incentive in that group to get as many points as possible.

43:25 – Good news for football fans is that we’ll more likely see early entrances for Messi &/or Tevez with such a cushion for Argentina. As long as S&M does not resort to hacking, we should be treated to seeing this excellent players. Although, who says Argentina needs them based on what we’ve witnessed today.

41:37 – Yellow card for Krstajic. Not that it matters. This World Cup is over for S&M.

40:25 – GGGGGOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL!!!!
My boy Saviola wins the ball in the corner, beats the forst S&M defender like a drum and shoots. ‘Keeper saves well but the rebound falls to Maxi Rodriguez how buries it. Argentina putting the hurt on S&M and nothing they can do to stop it.

38:38 – Kezman receiving treatment after a nasty bump from behind. Let’s hope he’s ok cos S&M don’t have many other scoring options. A replay of the goal shows again how classy it really was.

37:09 – Saviola working hard in defense too, amking tackles and then chasing the rebound even though it was a lost cause. Like that in a forward. The more I see of him play, the more I like him. Expect to see some goals from him today too.

35:50 – Goal by Crespo disallowed for offside. No matter how much he pleads. A shame cos the replay shows he was onside by a step and a half. Tood bad for the striker, it was a nice chip finish and he’d timed his run to perfection. Argentina looking to steamroll S&M.

34:01 – Cross from Sorin nearly pounced on at the near post by Crespo but the S&M keeper was there first. Redemption for Cambiasso with the goal after being dropped for this game. And no more jokes about his hair from me….for this game at least.

31:45 – At a loss to describe that second goal. Absolutely beautiful teamwork, passing and running off the ball. Anyone who doubts Argentina is the real thing only needs to look at that goal to have their words shoved down their throat. My prediction suddenly looks reasonable – except for the fact I have S&M scoring once.

29:55 – GGGGOOOOOOOAAAAAAALlLLLLLL!!!!!! Goal of the tournament so far. Ended with a back heel by Crespo inside the area and a nice finish by Cambiasso. Wow. Wow!

28:48 – Another free kick for S&M. Seems like most of their forward play is coming in the form of free kicks. This is not sustainable as Argentina will ahppily kick you all day and then pick up the pieces of your dodgy set plays. How do you break down Argentina?

27:45 – Riquelme shoots high and wide after being released by Cambiasso. Nice little touch inside to give himself more room, but the shot was not his best.

26:55 – Yellow card for Nadj. S&M really racking up the cards. Does not bode well for their last game.

26:00 – Free kick for S&M comes to nothing after Sorin refuses to jump and falls to the ground like he was shot by that creepy phone dude in Phone Booth. Anyone see that crap film?

24:20 – Krstajic confidently heads the free kick into Row Q. The corner is snapped up by the ‘keeper Jevric with Crespo lurking.

23:27 – Koroman scythes down Rodriguez and is lucky to escape a second booking. His minutes in this game are numbered if he keeps that up. Free kick on the corner of the box. Noice position for Riquelme.

20:20 – Shot of a drum bearing band from River Plate in the crowd. How can they allow those huge drums but deny the steel drums of T&T? Great atmosphere for those fans in that part of the ground.

19:01 – Question of the minute: in a team with such wonderful hair and flowing locks, does Cambiasso get tonnes of shit? Wigs left in his locker, Gifts of rugs? Still 1-0 Argentina.

17:50 – Milosevic kicks the crap out of Heinze in the penalty area. Heinze gets up gingerly rubbing his arse.

16:30 – Cambiasso is coming on for Luis Gonzalez who appears to be in some bother, perhaps a muscle pull. Cambiasso was benched after the last game based on his performance so I’m sure Argentine fans won’t be too happy with this development.

14:47 – First attacking move by S&M, a lob into the box that is easily dealt with by Abbondanzieri who should be benched for having such a long name.

12:40 – Free kick from Riquelme bounces off Sorin’s shin for a goal kick. Argentina looking comfortable on the ball and the fouls from S&M are starting to come faster now.

11:36 – Sorin bicycle-kicks into the crowd. Fancy but ineffective. Much like his hairstyle.

10:00 – Be interesting to see if the goal changes Argentina’s mindset. There is such a thing as scoring too early if it means your players relax too much and lose focus.

08:00 – Obviously not the start S&M wanted, but what a cracking goal by Argentina. Shades of the movement and teamwork shown by Spain against Urkraine for their fourth. The move started deep and the player than began it finished it. Beautiful to watch… over and over. Let’s see what S&M can build in reply. They HAVE to score in this game.

06:40 – Yellow card for Koroman after the Agentina fullback Sorin, who reminds me of Spain’s Puyol goes tumbling.

05:07 – GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLLL. Saviola lays on a great pass for Maxi Rodriguez who started the move and he blasts it into the back of the net.

02:55 – S&M no doubt appreciating being out of the sun today, even though they again have the early game. The sun against Holland was brutal, but Gelsenkirchen’s roof should take the edge off the heat at pitch level.

01:28 – Riquelme’s whipped corner isn’t dealt with by S&M and another corner results. This time they do better.

01:00 – Nice build up from Argentina, but Saviola’s cross is blocked for a corner to Argentina.

00:01 – We’re off. The crowd in good voice as Argentina gets us going.

1 minute to go: Argentina carrying 3 yellow cards into this game. Saviola and Heinze will certainly be missed against the Dutch if they do something stupid today. S&M has the same number with playmaker Stankovic the one to worry about. Yellow cards have been an issue so far in this cup. Let’s hope for a hard fought, but clean game. No hacking, no flopping.

National Anthems: Any precendent for Argentina doing better or worse in their away kit? Any Argentina fans out there know? Argentina fans in the stadium whistling during the S&M anthem. Nice guys, nice. Wonder if that tune will be changed when the countries split.

5 minutes to go: Players in the tunnel ready to come out. S&M in white and Argentina in their away blue. Maradona sighting in the crowd. He looks pissed or high already. High on life, of course! My prediction for this game? I think 4-1, but I’m not gonna say who.

10 minutes to go: S&M will be without their ManUre defender Vidic, but should have enough depth in defense to cover. However, in a game where they cannot afford to concede ANY goals, his presense will certainly be missed. For Argentina, Messi and Tevez have been talked about all over the Argentina blog this week and will they/won’t they start. Chances are they will see some action at some point this game in oder to let them have some playing time before the final round war with the Netherlands.

Pregame: This one should be a classic. Who’s going to win?
S&M will have to come out and attack this game to get a result. A second loss all but eliminates them from the tournament. A more attacking team leaves holes at the back and Argentina has the advantage of not having to press for the win. While the Argies will not want to leave their position in Group C until the game against Holland, they do have the knowledge that a draw will be enough if the game goes in that direction.

Having said all that, we’ve seen how games in this World Cup are won and lost in the final minutes. Ease off on the accelerator at your own peril. With the S&M team’s strong defense and the Argentinian propensity for flopping about like beached fish, this could be a stop-start game. A game of set pieces. Argentina have the ball-maestro in Roman Riquelme, and S&M have plenty of tall timber to throw forward and crowd the box.

Live every game in Group C, this one has some tasty implications and some fantastic football potential. Let’s hope we see more of that than yellow cards from the referee.

    2-0 Argentina

  • Dave

1-1 draw with Argentina scoring in the 90th on a goal by Messi.

  • Hex

This should be a high scoring game. I say 3-1 Argentina.

  • http://www.pertinentverge.blogspot.com Darkoze

Agree with Dave, 1-1. Just please!! No last minute goals! Unless, of course, its S&M who does the scoring.
It’ll be a chippy game; I’m hoping the refs don’t call it like pansies. Let the boys paly!

  • Franklin

I agree with Hex. Lots of goals and action hopefully. I think Argetina will win 4-2.

  • Al

Anyone know if Messi is going to play?

  • Stuart

Argentina has too much, if they don’t win by 2 goals I’ll be surprised. 2-0, perhaps 1-0 if S&M can keep it together on defense.

  • coio

No Al, Messi is not starting today

  • http://www.xanga.com/oneeyeddeer Mike

    Vamos Argentina, carajo!

  • http://www.xanga.com/oneeyeddeer Mike

at least i get to watch this one on TV…we got the TV all set up here at work!

  • sherma

i think the goal that was scored by Crouch was not a legal goal and that it should be one Engalnd and nil Trinidad and tobago because he climed on the back and pulled the hair of Sancho

please get this comment to the public and ask for a public REPLAY

  • Bidemi

Quality game right here. If Argentina can maintain their lethal efficiency, they can win this 3-0.

What’s with the Serbs jeering during the Argentinian anthem? That’s disrespectful.

  • Bidemi

Argentinian fans are returning the favor!

  • Stuart

sherma – while you’re right, it the result won’t get changed. There’s no instant replay in football, so the call will stand. Tough break for you guys, as you now need a 3 goal win over Paraquay and an England win over Sweden to advance. Good luck, you guys have been playing an inspired game!

  • Edogg

That anthem playing for serbs is not even theirs…its an old ex yugoslavian anthem that they never changed. That is why they dont care…just look at them while the anthem is playing…they dont give a toss….anyway…thay will definitely change next year when they split

  • Bidemi

    Vamos!! Knock out more Europeans!!

  • Yovany

Aguante Argentina!!! OLE OLE OLE OLE!!!

    Argentina 3 Serbia 0

    (Crespo, Sorin, Riquelme)

Vamos Argentina.. Toda Suramerica te apoya!!!

  • coio

They shouldn’t play the anthems at all.

  • Stuart

Bah! The pirate stream server is down…anyone got a link that’s working?

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

    Let’s play some real football!!

Go Argentinaaaaaa!!! I wanna see some action today. :D

    Stuart,
Aural, not visual, is The Sun

  • pf

Apparently no Brazilians here just yet….

I don’t know what’s more exciting — watching Brazil win or watching Brazilians pray for Argentina’s loss.

I say, I want to see more dramatic 90+ minute goals. Let’s keep the tradition of this world cup which seems to be the drama of last minute goals!

  • http://www.pertinentverge.blogspot.com Darkoze

    pf,
Those late goals!?? You must be young and in no need of notro glycerin pills.

  • http://www.pertinentverge.blogspot.com Darkoze

ahem…that would be “Nitro”, not “notro”.

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

Argentina probably should go for a 2-0 win. Not to let Serbia feel too bad.

  • Bidemi

What a fuckin goal. Argentina is looking so dangerous.

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

    Good strike!!

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

That is soooooo soon!! In fact too soon!!

That was a good goal. Easy one too!

    No defence in sight!

  • Al

Argentina look like the team to beat this World Cup. So very dangerous in the attack.

  • sam

    GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
    3 more to go.
    ARGENTIMNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Stuart

Looks like a long day for S&M…

Darkose – thanks for the link!

  • pf

    Darkoze.. LOL!

Sadly, I need an armada of pills daily, but I must admit, that is probably the most excitment I get in a day… :(

  • Stuart

Unless Netherlands shows something against IC, Argentina’s going to handle them like a cigar (bite off the tip, spit it out, and smoke the rest).

  • http://Genrenation.com Jeremy

good commentary… keep up the good work.

  • Kevin

Another day at work… another game missed… DAMN IT

  • Ubi

    i feel your pain kevin

  • Kevin

hahaha “who should be benched for having such a long name”

  • sam

FUCK !!!!!!! LUCCO is out early…Cambiasso is back in for him… I hope you alright big fella….

  • Kevin

I have to fly out to Vancouver with the fam tomorrow. Our flight was scheduled during the USA-Italy game, so I called the airline and paid an extra $25 to change mine to 6AM so I could get to Vancouver before everyone and watch the game at a bar.

  • Ubi

Oh man hey guys scroll down the page a little and chick out the chick in the green hat. Can you say TIT?

  • Kevin

    MILOSEVIC!? OH NO!

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

    Chris…

The commentator I’m listening to said it was Heinze’s groin. Not arse. :|

  • Vin

    Is Argentina really that good?

  • Shahriyar Ali

want to download all the highlights of all the matches? register to http://www.fillhd.com – They also have some complete matches!

  • Ubi

im so hyped for the italy-usa game tomorrow its going to be freakin awsome.

  • Al

S&M showing little attack. They have a hard time playing from behind. Just not enough offense on their team.

  • Tom

Serbs are a bunch of hacks in this game. Argies not even diving like normal. They are actually being hit.

  • Ubi

    dont advertise here you bum!

  • Kevin

    Ubi,

I’m pretty damn nervous about it.. Won’t really be surprised by any outcome and I’m not expecting too much. I’ll be watching it from some bar in Vancouver airport. The fam gets in when the 2nd half begins.. Hope they’re ready to watch it or wait for me!

  • Sal

Argentina’s defense is better than I thought it would be. This team might be for real.

  • pf

I guess the goals of this game are not going to be as dramatic as the expression on faces of Argentinian players who seem to apparently took acting classes….

Oh well, good acting has always been part of a game, it’s just doesn’t make it fun to watch…

  • ETucker

The key to the US game against Italy will be NO goals against in the first ten minutes….

if we can do that and muster a few attacks, we may have a shot at a draw or a flukey win.

  • Roland

What the? 1 – 0 already, huh? Ugh, I need coffee.

    Okay, a little late, but I predict Argentina 3 – 1.

  • ETucker

Crespo still has yet to score.
He does average almost a goal a game…

  • Sal

Roland – pretty goal from Argentina. Will wake you up quicker than coffee. :-)

  • Kevin

I saw Phone Booth… Now THAT was boring.. a whole movie filmed at a phone booth.. I wonder what their budget was.

  • Sal

Crespo doesn’t need to score on this team. They have a lot of firepower and we haven’t even seen Messi yet.

  • pf

I just realized that what I said didn’t make much sense… let me re-write

“…who seem to have attended some acting classes….”

  • Ubi

    Kevin,

Im not too sure whose gonna take the game, i just hope its a good game and neither side is too cautious. Im more excited then nervous though. The Italian and US fans are both equally crazy, so it should be good. Im ready to see some hulligans go at it at the stadium. Lets see which side brings more flares. And ill be watching it on my uncles 60″ HI-DEF screen. ITS GONNA BE SWEET.

  • Shahriyar Ali

  • AJ

Best goal of the tournament. Great pass from Crespo. Arg is very, very good.

  • Stuart

Damn! Sounds like Argentina’s 2nd was a beauty…guess I’ll have to wait for the FIFA.com highlights to see it… :(

  • Kevin

    Ubi,

World Cup on High-Def is breathtaking. I’ve got a 42″ High-Def at home and there is such a huge difference.. Throw in the surround sound, hear the fans clapping and yelling behind you.. it’s GREAT.. then the ESPN sportscasters start talking…

  • Pete

    Now THAT is football!

    Joga Bonito

  • ETucker

who called the Crespo goal ten minutes ago?

He gets one a game…even if they are not all so pretty!

  • pf

    Ok, not that I care….

…but this is the second goal where the goal keeper just didn’t even care to move.

    What gives?

  • Ubi

i think im going to fake a stomachache and go home to watch the games i cant take this no more.

  • Pete

ETucker – Crespo didn’t score but he did set it up with a nifty back heel.

  • ETucker

OKay, so cambiasso actally scored. a backheel for an assit conts as a goal in my book ;)

  • Shahriyar Ali

    i’ll change it to 4-0

  • Roland

Oh yeah, Argentina is freakin’ loaded. They should make the semifinals at least.

  • Trapper

Looks like Argentina are playing in the the same style as their ‘94 side were before Diego got sent home.

    That goal was truly beautiful.

  • ETucker

And I still think Crespo is going to score…assuming he plays the whole game.

I bet Riquelme comes out at the 70 minute mark to make room for Aimar

  • AJ

Argentina vs Spain in the final. I’d pay to see that.

  • Ubi

HAHA, man screw espn im in canada we get live feeds from europe, those annoucers are the best.

  • Ronaldo

Diegito!! Put on a shirt and get on the field. Vamos Argentina!!!

  • Roland

The good news is either Argentina v. Mexico or Argentina v. Portugal in the second round should be a fun match to watch.

  • Shahriyar Ali

    GOAL!!!!!!!!

  • Shahriyar Ali

    no!

  • Bidemi

    Crespo gets robbed

  • AJ

    Crespo with the yellow.

  • Shahriyar Ali

    HAHAHA! Great match!

  • chayan

    damn… crespo was onside…

  • pwnawannab

Aight I feel bad for S&M now – I am listening is it as bad as Spain/Ukraine?

  • Pete

Argentina making us all forget that dreadful 2002 performance. This team could be special. Simply dismantling the vaunted Serb back four.

  • Shahriyar Ali

i think Crespo will be substituted!

  • Bidemi

The quarter finals of this tournament will be nothing short of amazing. The field is wide open.

Crespo just tried to make it 3-0, and he should have, on a break-away: called off-side, again the wrong call, again bogus line-judging, again killer off-sides. I may not like Argentina. I despise football-killing line-judging. It should have been 3-0.

  • sam

That second goal is a beauty… What a magnificent assist by Crespo.
GO ARGENTINA…….. BRING TEVEZ IN the second half so he can score>>>>>>>YEHAAAAAAA

  • Bidemi

I hope Spain and Argentina meet sometime in the tournament.

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

    I think I’m in *wub*.

Argentina needs to win that cup. They are simply too good. Noone so far seems to deserve it as much Argentina does.

    Go Argentina!!! :D

  • Roland

I like this Argentina kit. Quite sharp looking.

  • Pete

Kezman limps off for S&M. He comes back on but he is the only guy who can score for them. They are in trouble.

  • Bidemi

    ARGENTINA IS RUNNING RIOT!!!!!!!!!!

I predicted 3-0…seems like it may be a lot more.

  • Roland

3 – 1 may have been too optimistic for Serbia.

  • Stuart

    Oh my…this is getting ugly…

  • Sal

Good god does Argentina look great. Saviola is the man.

  • pwnawannab

3 nil ???? Are they showing maradonna flipping out?

  • Ronaldo

Argentina is playing against a team that cannot figure out their game and their name.

  • sam

    ##### ###33333333333333333
    OMG
    MAXI #2 for him
    CLINIC#############
SAVIOLA is the man of the match….What a wonderful steaL by Saviola…and perfect finish by MAXI again.

  • AJ

Great individual play by Saviola and Maxi gets the reward.

  • Roland

Argentina looks like an 800lb. gorilla this game, and the Serbs are the banana.

  • matthew

    argentina is raining goals!!!!!

  • pf

What baffles me is the fact that the ref is bit more cautious with yellows for Argentina.

Now, on the other hand, S&M doesn’t seem to care much anymore…

Eihter way, at this pace it will be 6-0. A feel good day for Argentina.

(btw… last goal, again, where was the goalie? Out to drink coffee!)

  • Takeshi

3-0 before the half! Argentina is going for the REDRUM!

  • Sal

Argentina, Germany, England and Ecuador are through. This is going to be a great tournament once we reach the next round.

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

Serbia should quit while they can.

    Argentina is soooo trashing them!!

Serbia is getting back at Argentina by getting all cranky on the field! They seem to be really really upset and disturbed!(I dont blame them)

I suppose they dont care for the yellow card fines!

  • ETucker

Holland has got to be scared stiff…if they lose to Ivory Coast, the last two games of this group could be VERY interesting….

  • Sal

Didn’t Serbia’s defense give up no goals in qualifying? They look lost puppies running without heads

  • Roland

This is going to be a great World Cup, because all the later rounds will be filled with classic match-ups, with just enough new flavors (like Ecuador) to keep things interesting.

  • Bidemi

This looks worse than the USA-Czech game, except SNM isnt playing half-ass bad as the Americans.

  • Sam

Maybe this year Argentina will return to their glory days!

  • Stuart

Argenttina’s making it look like “the group of tissue paper”…

  • AJ

Most dominate half of the tournament. Argentina is hitting all cylinders.

  • soze

I am eating my words..Arg. is playing great. See, all they needed to do is take Riquelme out of the game. He has been invisible for the last two goals.

  • Roland

Is Argentina that awesome? (Yes) But Serbia is pretty lousy. Spain crushed them 5 -1 in the qualifying playoff.

  • http://www.pierretristam.com Pierre’s Total Football

Half-time can’t come soon enough for this Serbian side, as shell-shocked as it’s been since its boys faced the real thing in their shelters in the 1990s.

  • xx

Quite likely it will be a germany/argentina vs brazil finals- these teams are a clear notch above all the rest

  • pf

I don’t think one should judge how awesome Argentina is just based on this game.

Let’s wait for NED-ARG and then ARG-MEX or ARG-POR. I think they have good chances but then agian, the ball is very round.

Surprisingly poor performance from SGC compared to their last game against Oranje.

  • Roland

Germany won’t make the finals. No. Chance.

  • Precise, as before. Look out for this Argentina.

  • http://www.xanga.com/oneeyeddeer Mike

oh man…what a first half! We’re going nuts here in Argentina! I agree with Bob, there is no way to describe that second goal…absolutely beautiful!!

  • ETucker

    Pf-

Argentina also had a good game against Ivory Coast.

Plus, you can either say one team played poorly, or the other team played well.

In this case, Argentina is playing well and S&M is playing poor as a result

  • http://www.xanga.com/oneeyeddeer Mike

oops…thought was Bob was doing this one. I agree with CHRIS re: the second goal!

  • http://www.pierretristam.com Pierre’s Total Football

Hard as it is to admit for a Brazilian fan, this performance by Argentina–deft to the point of being artistic–makes the case that, so far at least, it is a better side than Brazil. So far only Spain have looked as sharp and enthusiastic, and only Germany have looked as dangerous, though without the crafty finishes. Then again, Germany have also been ridiculously unlucky. Can’t say that Argentina have been “lucky” exactly: they’ve created their own chances and made good on them. But they’re facing a Serbian side that looks more like a blanched and beleaguered thied-division team from somewhere near the Yemen-Oman border.

  • jaleel kp

    very very good play

  • Kelvin

Roland, Spain did not crush Serbia in the playoffs, they actually struggled against them with two lousy draws; with Serbia topping the group. Spain crushed Slovakia 5-1 in the playoffs.

Anyway, Brazil must be sweating their balls at the moment after that Argentinain performance.

  • sam

SOZE…Leave Riquelme alone…He is he heart of our midfield, and everything starts and goes through him…. What, do you need a microscope to see that???????????????????

  • Ubi

oh wow i feel for S&M but this Argentinian team is looking really good.

  • rasheed kp

    ARGENTINA+ BRAZIL IS FINAL

  • pf

Watching the replays, I just don’t get it….

I am not implying a conspiracy or anything, but I just don’t get it. Some of hard core fans will think I am crazy to see these things, but seriously, I really don’t care if Argentina advances or not — I am just an objective bystander. If you ask me, somewhere deep inside I think it’s about time that Argentina gets further in the cup than in the last 2 cups.

    Now, my 2 cents….

2nd goal, the goalie reaches in the direction of the ball (he sees it comming!) then rapidly pulls his hand back to not interfere with it’s path.

3rd goal — not only was the defense pushed (literally, the guy got pushed in to a corner), then the goalie comes out 2 miles out, dives, sees the ball played to the other end, and instead of running back to the action (or the goal line), he casually strolls back….

So much for World Cup efforts in this game. At least it’s entertaining to see the creativity of goals.

  • Roland

Kelvin, my bad, you’re absolutely correct sir. I apologize for my morning haze.

  • Ronaldo

Please take Riquelme out!!Un pedazo de mierda. Aimar brings speed and push. Riquelme brings a crying frown and two cement feet.

  • Stuart

So far, the tournament is developing beautifully…it’s as if some of the top sides are laying down markers for the others to answer. I think Argentina wanted to make a statement with this game after the way Spain played the other day. Should be some AWESOME clashes on the way to the final.

  • silver_blaise

very amazing confidence and finishing by Argentina. Superb!!!! VAMOS ARGENTINA

  • sam

SECOND GOAL has got to be the most beautiful goal so far. It shows team work, technicality on the ball, great and precisive passing, and a great finish. Five passes were made before led to the goal.

  • silver_blaise

ru kidding ?? Riquelme? CEMENT FEET??

  • sandeep

there was 24 passes 8 players invovled this was one for the ages dor sure next world and next when highlights are going to be shown of 2006 version cant miss this one

  • Ronaldo

    pf:

Did you see Pekerman on the grassy noll??

  • Ubi

Its amazing how nobody could predict the outcome of this game. Check the blog nobody had it scored 3 nil by the half. Go Argies.

  • sam

RONALDO !!!!! GET you ass outta here…GO to you sorry brazilian blog, and vry over there and wish you have a Riquelme on your team.

  • Keyser

What a first half. I hope now that all those you are yelling for Messi calm down. With the game Saviola played today I think this controversy is over.

  • sandeep

anywaz ur guys are doing a gr8 job with live blogging what can s&b do i wish argentina continue to play like this even this second half

  • pf

    Ronaldo… LOL… hehe.. who’s the patsy here?

  • soze

I agree with Ronaldo…Riquelme OUT!!!! He’s a useless tit on this team.

  • Roland

Hey, ny 3 – 1 could still pan out. Perhaps the Argentinians will come down with a case of botulism before the match is done…

  • soze

pf> Interesting theory…there may be something to that.

  • Ronaldo

    Sam:

Do not make me upset! I just ate three picanhas chased with 10 caipirinhas and I have a game tomorrow. You see! I am getting a headache already.

  • AJ

Ljuboja should get a red card for that hair. What is he doing looking like a skunk.

  • Sal

Crespo close to making it 4-0.

  • ETucker

The Argentina blog already debate teh “yes Riquelme, no Riquelme” issue.

The conclusion was for Riquelme, if only becase Aimar has been injured, D’Alessandro lacks European Cup experience and Veron is an embarassment

  • AJ

I think Riquelme adds some stability in the midfield. Why mess with something that is working?

  • soze

ETucker> I’ll agree with you on one point, Veron IS and embaressment.

    Look Riquelme decided to play.

  • Roland

Riquelme is doing fine. All he needs is a goal.

  • sam

OMG, Did you see that little back flick from Sorin to saviola almost scored the fourth, That was some piece of skill by Sorin.
I love Sorin, he does all the intangibles that don’t show up on the stats sheet.

  • AJ

Riquelme is valuable on free kicks even though he didn’t show it there.

  • Roland

Serbia with a great chance there. Argentina slow to get back.

  • arnie

Is anyone currently watching this using the TVU Player? Mine won’t connect.

  • ETucker

Sorin is 100% technique and heart. He and Riquelme get bashed for not being track stars, but they pass beautifully and sus corazones laten albiceleste!

    vamos vamos Dieguito!

  • SES

Serbia needs to seriously put the pressure on Argentina and get on the offensive if they don’t want to be eliminated.

  • sam

Ronaldo ! I don’t care if you are sick or not, jot get your ass outta here…This here is to support Argentina not to bash on players…Like I said Get the fuck outta here.

  • Hex

    Mike how’s the streaming today?

  • soze

Sam..this is an open forum…take it easy.

  • AJ

Easy boys. Let’s just have fun in here without the ill will. Argentina is playing a great game so let’s enjoy it.

  • silver_blaise

    alright! TEVEZ!

  • Roland

    AJ, here, here.

  • Pete

S&M has shown nothing in two games. They deserve an early ticket home.

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

Arnie.. nothing is connecting today. Weird! :|

  • soze

Yeah, where is that ‘fantastic four’ defence they were so proud of??

  • ETucker

I love Tevez to death, but neither he nor Crespo complement Riquelme at all….

I think Cruz and Saviola are the only two forwards that work well with him because they like to make goods runs off the ball and finish…Tevez and Messi like the ball at their feet to run with….

  • http://www.pierretristam.com Pierre’s Total Football

“They should just walk off the field. Those white shirts need to go into the locker room.” The ESPN commentator, referring to Serbia. They’re blathering on about the Serbs’ “embarrassing effort,” about their loss of “character” after giving up that first goal. Would they be saying the same thing about the US team, which acted no more inspiringly than these Serbs after being hit with that nuclear bomb from the great Koller?

  • Ubi

haha sam why are you getting so worked up. You know thats not THE Ronaldo right?

  • pf

Yawn, yawn… Spain vs Ukraine.. yet again…

  • SES

I think Argentina could put a few more goals away before the end of the game. I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended 5-0.

  • Pete

Kezman is booted out with a red card. S&M is officially toast. Poor effort for them.

  • Roland

Oh boy, that was well deserved. Serbia in deep $#!+ now.

  • soze

That was a harsh call…red???..Kezman did connect with the ball.

  • arnie

Blah-Me – I saw on another forum that others can’t get the TVU to work today either. I would guess their server is probably down. Hardware probs or FIFA interference, who knows.

  • ETucker

Kezman is a forward, right? So how can a forward get two yellow cards in one game?

    Depressing….

  • Ubi

Who saw that crazy block ben wallace had on Shaq a couple of weeks ago, where Ben got all ball and shaq was left laying sprawled out on the floor like a he just got molested? Oh wait i think thats the wrong sport.

  • SES

S&M is really giving up now. Those goals by Argentina just destroyed their confidence. Hopefully they can get at least one goal before the end of the game. There’s always the next WC and the chance to excel. :)

  • http://www.pertinentverge.blogspot.com Darkoze

S & M @ 10; think ARG will go for the throat or have key players relax for next match?

Any chance S & M may try to see if they can play with only 9 players?

  • Dino

Greetings everyone from Mobile USA..Roland told ya about Spain

  • http://sports.godblessthefreaks.org Philip

At least I feel better that TVU’s not working for others either. It worked at the beginning of this game; then my computer wanted to install a Windows Update. (Actually I feel asleep so I didn’t tell it to postpone.)

My paranoid side wants to believe that Windows installed some vile DRM piece to keep me from using TVU. If that’s the case, Linux or BSD will be on my system very quickly, I promise you.

  • stampede

The reason most of us are following the blog is that we can’t actually see the game. But this is assuaged completely by knowing exactly what the players’ hair looks like. It’s like we’re there. That said, your commentary on the actual playing of the football is superb. Seriously. Keep it up.

  • Pete

Can’t wait for the next game. Ivory Coast is going to bring it against Holland.

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

    Was that red card justified?

    That was sad!

  • SES

I agree with ‘Stampede.’ Great job on the commentary.

  • Roland

    Here comes Messi…

  • Keat

S&M is ready to pack their bag to go back home lolx !!!

  • http://sports.godblessthefreaks.org Philip

    Darkoze,

What point in going for the throat when you’re up 3-0?

  • AJ

Argetina content to play keep away for the rest of the game. The object now is to avoid injury and cards.

  • Roland

Hey Dino, Spain’s gonna roll baby.

  • ETucker

I really want to see a few more goals from Argentina. Enough of this monkey in teh middle business!

  • sam

    Crespo shouls have a penalty.
    MESII IS ON

    YEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • AJ

    Hooray, Messi on at last.

  • Roland

Maradona looking ecstatic, as one might expect.

  • pf

I thik the decision to cover the stadiums was a great step to improve the enjoyment of this game.

The harsh sun was so 80’s LOL.

Germany is spoiling us, I don’t think the future cups will have this kind of hosting. :(

  • ETucker

That’s two BS calls against Crespo. It was obviously a penalty! Plus, he was onside for that other goal!

  • silver_blaise

    MESSIIII!!!!! *whoops in wild delight*

  • Ronaldo

    Sam:

You are killing me! I am cramping big time! Oh, my belly! I think the picahna wants to come out. If I play like Riquelme tomorrow it is all your fault bad boy.

  • http://www.pertinentverge.blogspot.com Darkoze

    Philip,
Maybe a wrong expression. How about, piling it on to build up that goal differential?

  • Roland

    4 – 0. A laugher.

  • Dino

Hey Roland I think the US is going to look much diffenrent tommorow

  • AJ

Messi to Crespo to make it 4-0. Nice pass from the flea.

  • Bobbio

    hoho 4-0!

  • http://www.pertinentverge.blogspot.com Darkoze

    Crespo. Piling it on.

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

    GOOOOAAALLL!!

    4-0

  • sam

THE KID Delivers an assist to Crespo…
    Here arrives the new Maradona……….MESSSSSSSSSAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • pf

    That wansn’t even crespo scoring

2nd goal by S&G on their own goal…

  • Roland

Why do you say that, Dino. Arena making some changes I haven’t heard about?

  • freakaholic

    “easy peezy, lemon squeezy”??

  • arnie

    “easy-peasy lemon-squeezy”

  • Bobbio

    MORE I WANT MORE

  • freakaholic

is this a standard saying in england?

  • arnie

i dunno but its a good one, innit?

  • Linne

The Worldcup would be exciting if an outsider should win. At each world cup finals the whole world can always predict who the winner is, and for me that is no fun. Everyone is expecting a Brazil, Argentina or some traditional team to win. This time I would love an outsider to take over

  • Roland

If I were Pekerman I would pull my guys with yellow cards. Why risk it?

  • Bobbio

“easy peasy etc” Yep. It’s even in dictionaries. Look it up on google.

    EG> http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/easy_peasy_lemon_squeezy

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

May I be inquisitive? Who is “Ronaldo” dude on the blog?

  • Dino

Roland no changes that I know about but he propably chewed some ass!!!

  • arnie

    (childish talk)

    lol

  • Roland

    Good night Serbia.

  • sam

    TEVEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZ # 5

  • http://sports.godblessthefreaks.org Philip

They’ll be partying in Karachi tonight. ;-)

  • steven

i have not seen been able to see games…which was more impressive Spain or Arg

  • AJ

Tevez with the magic. Wow, Argentina is looking unstoppable.

  • Roland

Hard to say, but given that Argentina has already won twice – I would say Argentina right now.

  • http://sports.godblessthefreaks.org Philip

So now the US will really have to work hard to finish 32nd.

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

Lol Argentina. My 6-0 request was a joke!!!

  • pf

This game is getting boring. Quite predicatble with similar flavor to Spain vs Ukraine.

Later y’all… CIV-NED! Can’t wait to see the efforts from both teams to stay in the group!!

  • matilda

Ok, now I’m just starting to feel sorry for Serbia and Montenegro. This is a train wreck of a game!

  • Cliff

Argentina has definitely been more impressive over Spain.

  • SES

I think Argentina can easily score up to 8 goals with the way S&M are playing. Argentina is definitely a good contender for the championship. They’ll definitely advance to the knockout stages though. :) Good for them and their country.

  • Roland

Oh man, I thought that was 6 – 0 right there. Serbia desperate to just get out with what remains of their honor.

  • Okey, stop it Argentina. You’re scaring me now.

  • AJ

    MESSI makes it 6666666666

  • Roland

To no avail – Serbia, meet the woodchipper…

  • sam

    MESSSSSSSSSSSSSSI # 6
    MESSIRADONAAAAAA

  • http://blue2rose.blogspot.com Blah-Me

    ARGENTINA?! ARE YOU FOR REAL?!!!

  • SES

Serbia just wants the game to be over by now. What a shame.

  • ETucker

Yes, no 32nd place of us! The USA just needs to lose the remaining games 2-0 to Italy and 1-0 to Ghana and we’re set!

  • http://www.pertinentverge.blogspot.com Darkoze

1-1 is what I’d predicted. Not even close! I’ll be steering clear of any games of chance today.

  • Takeshi

    6-0 ….HOLY CRAP!!!!!

    R
    E
    D
    R
    U
    M

  • Roland

Lol, that’s a good strategy ETucker, set the bar low, lol.

  • ETucker

Argentina should be allowed to field two teams next World Cup. The wealth of talent is ridiculous!

  • Sal

Argentina look like world beaters. Are they peaking too soon?

  • colwin

    Messi was impressive!

  • Okey, can we now start calling Argentina the favorites and take the pressure out of Brazil’s shoulders now? Thanks!

  • Roland

Serbia grateful this is over. I can’t blame them.

  • http://sports.godblessthefreaks.org Philip

I’m listen to Cadena SER from Spain (Mitre wasn’t working), and their joking about how Argentina has “almost” clinched its place in the 2nd round. If CIV beats NED, and NED beats ARG 8-0, then the albiceleste could be in trouble. Otherwise they’re looking OK.

  • Ronaldo

Argentina is the team to beat. period. Super deep bench. Messi is the distabilizer. Tevez is the cherry on top. The offense is so good that the defense hardly touches the ball. Brings back memories of Mexico 70 and Brazil. Argentina con todo carajo!

  • SES

The ref couldn’t blow the whistle soon enough.. We’ll see how Argentina does in the Round of 16. There will be a lot of stronger teams during that stage, but I doubt the team will disappoint. Good luck next time, S&M.

  • Stuart

Pressure’s on Netherlands now against IC…they don’t want to be in a must-win against Argentina. Short of a loss, Argentina’s through as group champs. Nicely done!

  • ETucker

Peaking too soon? Maybe their subs are peaking too soon!

If anything, they are building up their confidence for a serios rn WHILE instilling fear in their next opponent.

    Both are desirable.

  • Ahnie

damn TVU not working. why couldn’t it be off yesterday. today game sounds so gooood!

  • Dino

Ronaldo I think Spain is going to give them trouble if it gets there

  • Tom

I know, I can’t watch it at work without TVU. :(

  • Roland

Argentina’s defense was never seriously threatened. This Serbia team was a joke. The Argentines are vulnerable on defense; if you can avoid getting down early, they are beatable.

But I’d much rather play against Brazil, right now.

  • hoa

Argentina will rop this group. Holland looks like no match for them. Poor SMT, I think they lost their will to fight after too many early scores.

  • Roland

Spain can beat them, but it would be a hell of a match.

  • http://www.pierretristam.com Pierre’s Total Football

At least it’ll make it fun to root against Argentina as they make their way to the second round. The Holland-Argentina match up in a few days should be an interesting reckoning for both teams, and the ever-dangerous Dutch are poised to make a statement of their own: no football juntas on their turfs.

  • Hin Tam

Even Brazil are shaking in their boots now. Argentina will win the world cup, no doubt about it!

  • Ubi

    OUCH that was a beating

  • http://asd123 Peter

    YEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!

  • Ronaldo

    Dino:

Maybe. But I am tired of waiting for Spain to do something in a World Cup. They have skill but their brains are mush. Of their four goals the first went in with the back of the head, the second one was hit by the wall, the third was not a penalty and the fourth one was great but Puyols will never again do that play again. Not convinced yet. We will see.

  • Dino

GTG see yall at the Ned vs Civ

  • http://www.xanga.com/oneeyeddeer Mike

    oh man, what a game!!

  • Keyser

like in their first half, ruthless efficency. but this tima was much more worse. woah.
Definitively, Messy & Tevez are outstanding options if a match looks tough.

  • Roland

Ronaldo, you’re so completely wrong I don’t no where to begin…

Let’s start with the first goal – that was a great set piece play off the side of the head.

The second goal, did rebound of the wall, but no way the keeper makes that save, regardless. That ball was unstoppable.

The third goal? Clearly the defender pulled his shorts in the penalty box – that’s an automatic penalty shot, period.

The fourth goal speaks for itself.

  • Stuart

    Of course…NOW I get a stream working…

Oh well, maybe they’ll show highlight of the carnage.

  • pf

This game made me realize how good the Poles played.

At least they have pride and integrity.

Looks like a very favorable game for Argentina. This means that they will get to play 2nd ranking from group D — and as such they are guaranteed quarterfinals.

  • Keyser

LOL Zé, I always like your posts. I look forward to reading them in a Brazil-Argentina, if I don’t die of a heart attack during the match.

  • Kelvin

Argentina to win the World Cup, in the process making Brazil look like crap. ‘Nuff said.

    That was absolutely ashtonishing.

  • gendhis

    cant believe what I’ve seen!
    6-0 !??!!?
    argentina….awesome!

  • carrie

OH MY PRECIOUS GOD. WE ARE SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. MESSI LOVE YOUUUUUUUU. WE THOUGHT THE WORLD HOW TO PLAY FOOTBALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
THANK YOU GUYS LOVE YOU LOTS
    CHAMPION ARGENTINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • http://www.riverplateonline.com t1ncho

    hahahhahah
saw? argentina have a nice team, it is a group of friends, a REALLY team, same to the high school. Good defense, Excelente ofennsive. A REALLY good “bank”, Messi – Tevez – Palacio hahah

Argentina have the guns to conquist de word cup. The key is Riquelme, if Roman do the best, Argentina win the cup.

Ahhhh messi, if do the best hahahah

brazil? yeap yeap, with Emerson alone in the middle..
    brazil its a joke.

    plz sory my english.

Felicitaciones che!!! Argetina is playing great futbol right now, the best BENCH in the world cup without a doubt, messi is such a joy to watch, good for tevez, I liked the way he celebrated with everyone from the bench…the next game vs holland should be a sweet game, and then vs Mexico/Portugal, then against the dutch again, semi-final against spain and then…ok, I gotta calm down

  • Bobbio

Oh gosh.. Now we have to play these guys on Wednesday! I’m scared stiff!

Tincho, olvidáte del inglés y vamos a hablar castellano acá! Vamos Argentina, carajo!!!!!!!!!!

  • chayan

Jesus Christ, the Dutch aren.t lookibg bad either. Infact they have started better against Ivory Coast than we did.

    what a spanking!

  • Roland

¡Esta bien, amigos Argentinos! ¡Pero si juegas contra España en este tornea, te lo vamos a poner por el culo! ;)

  • Mcthingy2

That was fantastic by The Argies. As soon as they brought on Tevez and Messi they upped the pace again. That must frighten every team – having two like that on the bench.

The second goal was quite simply the best team goal I’ve ever seen. I’m never going to delete this from my TiVo!!

Anyone know is Messi will start a match vs Netherland?

  • Laura

Excuse me Roland… Spain will beat Argentina? When exactly did they before? When did Spain get past quarter finals? I can understand Spaniards wanting to win, but believing they will… that’s a bit too much… :)

This was a very well played pinball game with only one active participant, Argentina! Congrats, and S&M, thank god you are lucky you won’t play together anymore and hopefully someone will clean up your federation since it is known to have left overs from the past which have tendency to pocket money from players who want to play and those who should play and are unwilling to “pay up some serious $$$$” never get a chance! Clear examples are Rambo Petkovic who is for years #1 goal scorer in Brazil of M. Pantelic from Hertha Berlin! Amazing leadership team S&M has, no knowledge of soccer tactics at all!
