They’ve both retired from inernational football now, but every time Roberto Carlos blasted a free-kick into the stands, Brazil could and should have let Juninho Pernambucano take it instead.

I hung out with a bunch of Brazillians in Berlin and they would cheer loudiest when Juninho came on a sub, louder than all the other subs. The supporters were only happy to see him come on - they obviously knew that Parreira was managing that team poorly.
Why was he only a sub? Well, I think everyone expected Ronaldinho to his job, eh?

Does anybody really care anymore? Brazil sucked and that’s the bottom line. Yes, Marco your Materazzi got fair treatment. He got to hold the cup. What more do you want?
