Hooliganwatch™: Hamburg Hooligan Hilton

Recognizing that even hooligans need a roof to sleep under, Hamburg is building a temporary jail that can house up to 150 people during the World Cup. The jail will be made available for those who are “temporarily taken into custody” in order to avert violence. Residents might be asked to stay there for up to two weeks at a time. I’m here to reassure all the hooligans out there reading this blog who might be thinking that a temporary German jail sounds like a bad chapter in history. The Hamburg Hooligan Hilton might not be so bad after all. The jail is costing the city $4.6 million and for that type of money you have to expect it will have hot showers and possibly even those fun coin operated vibrating beds.
