Here’s Your Chance to Play for Trinidad

Some good ranting in the Trinidad papers regarding the country’s recent attempt to bolster its World Cup chances by bringing in players of Trinidadian decent who are playing in England and other countries. As we’ve pointed out on this blog, the only apparent requirement to play for T&T is a willingness to learn the national anthem but we were wrong.

The truth is that if a loophole could be found tomorrow morning to get them in, someone would be instantly faxing them the words to the National Anthem along with instructions on how to eat a piping hot doubles without letting the sauce leak onto their fingers.

So there you have it. To play for Trinidad you must be willing to sing and you must be willing to eat piping hot doubles with your hands. Want to improve your chances?
