i dont agree with DT at all. If anything, England is all about attack, as well as parauguays hopes are solely based on the attack of their stars. not sure about sweden or trinidad though.

Group C looks tough on paper only. Serbia Montenegro only conceded 1 goal in 10 qualifying matches, but most of those matches are against weak teams. Ivory Coast is way overrated. Just because some of their players are household names, doesn't mean they are capable of beating Holland or Argentina.

The toughest group is Group E. In my opinion, Italy has the best squad out of the 32 teams participating. Czech 2006 is not as good as Czech 2004. It'll be 3 way fight between Czech, USA and Ghana for the second spot.

Easiest Group: Group A. Germany will win all their matches.

Most Interesting: Group F. Brazil is good when facing European teams, but they don't have good records against non-European teams. Last meeting with Japan was a 2-2 draw in last year's Confederation Cup and Japan nearly won. Brazil's last meeting with Australia was at 1999 (or was it 1997?) Confederation Cup and Australia won 1-0.

Least Interesting: Group B. England, Sweden and Paraguay are not really attacking minded teams. There will be lots of matches in this group that will end up with low scoring draws.

I think Group B is going to be the most interesting with England coming through on top but Sweden and Paraguay seriously fighting it out. Trinidad could be the spoiler.

I reckon groups C and E are the hardest, and they could produce some unexpected results. Holland have a world class team on paper, but when it comes to playing the big game they never seem to pull it off. And Italy do the opposite - they end up losing to the worst teams in the group. And the two African teams in these groups could really cause some trouble.

Your analysis seems right to me. It will be interesting to look back after Group play at what the common wisdom was before the tournament.

Toughest: E
Easiest: H
Most Interesting: C
Least Interesting: H

Toughest: Group C
Easiest: Group H
Most Interesting: Group C & B
Least Intersting: Group F

I expect the favorites to prevail and the tournament to get really interesting by the final 8.
