Goleo: No. 1 Hit Recording Artist

By: WC Bob | May 23rd, 2006 | 2 Comments »

The lion without trousers might have brought down a German business, but that doesn’t mean Goleo is going quietly into the night without one last roar. I was reading some FIFAspeak over on the official site about how great the truly horrific music will be at the World Cup, when this phrase jumped off the computer screen: “Before a ball has even been kicked at the tournament, GOLEO has scored a No.1 hit with his first single from the album, ‘Love Generation’, recorded with Bob Sinclar.”

Try as I might, I wasn’t able to find a single music chart that listed the song as number one, but really I didn’t try all that hard.

I did, however, find a music video featuring everyone’s favorite mascot failure. Since I forced myself to watch the whole thing I only feel compelled to make you do the same.

Fans of the song will be sad to learn that it is not part of Voices, the tournament’s official album.

That throw in video was the best of the week. This music video is the worst.

Well, Europeans loved David Hasselhoff, so I guess I really can’t be surprised that they like this.

By the way, isn’t this a remake of a not-new song or something? It sounds awfully familiar.
