Germany is in the Money after the World Cup
Sepp Blatter’s bank account is happy today with the announcement that Germany’s World Cup organizing committee earned a net profit of 56.5 million euros from the 2006 tournament. The committee had total earnings of 140 million euros and paid out 44 million euros to the tax man. Another 40 million euros went to Blatter’s retirement account at FIFA. The remaining 56.5 million euros will be given to the German football association, professional league and loyal World Cup Blog readers. You can collect your dough by coming to our global world headquarters. First come, first served. Don’t let Sepp beat you here.

Bob, can you give me the address and I will be right over. Do I need to show proof of who I am? You know all of us who are worried about South Africa being ready in time in 2010 are nonentities. Will a passport suffice or do I need a notarized letter from Juergen Klinsmann stating I am a WC Blogger or that I even exist in this dimension? Please advise ASAP. Dankeschoen.

LA Fam - I’ll contact my connection with Germany’s equivalent to ESPN and find out where Klinsi lives and take the 405 to Newport Beach. I sure hope Sepp Blatter and Jack Warner haven’t gotten to that money before we get there.
