From Thailand to the World Cup

By: WC Bob | February 18th, 2006 | 1 Comment »

Ever wonder where the balls that will be used in the World Cup come from? Neither did I, but now that I know I figure I might as well spread the knowledge so that you too won’t be part of the ignorant masses. The official World Cup balls are made in Thailand by factory workers who are thrilled to see the fruits of the labors on the world’s largest stage. Of course, the article doesn’t mention how much the workers make to assemble these balls nor does it mention how much the sponsoring company will make selling them at $130 pop. I guess in this case ignorance is bliss.
