From Korea to Iran, World Cup Fans will be dancing in the Streets
The World Cup fever continues to spread across the globe. In South Korea, one in six people are expected to be out on the streets cheering on their team even though the Red Devils games don’t start until after midnight local time. In a repeat of World Cup 2002, South Korea will set up giant television screens in public squares including one near city hall in Seoul where more than one million gathered four years ago. You can expect a whole lot of Vertex dancing this summer in Seoul.
In Iran, meanwhile, police have decided that they will let the nation get swept up in World Cup madness. If Iran’s team wins and people take to the streets to celebrate, the Iranian police say they won’t get in the way.
“Having fun is the right of the people,” said Tehran’s police spokesman, Mohammad Torang.
Iran will be following South Korea’s lead by erecting giant television screens throughout Tehran.
We’re planning on having a pretty cool contest during the World Cup where anyone can submit photos to our site. It would be super cool to see some pictures of the big screen viewings in South Korea, Iran and all over the world. Check back here in a few weeks for more details about the contest and some of the cool stuff you can win for submitting the best photo.
