French Public Optimistic about World Cup Final Chances

I have a feeling if you took a poll in France a month ago there wouldn’t have been too many people that thought Les Bleus would lift the World Cup trophy in Berlin on July 9. My, how times have changed. A survey in France shows that 86% of the country thinks their team will prevail in tonight’s final against Italy. The only ones who aren’t as bullish on their team are people in rural areas and those cranky pensioners, who probably are just jealous that old timers like Zidane and Thuram are still playing instead of at the nursing home.

Bob one of these days you will be an old fart too. Don’t forget us old timers were once hot stuff too. How about a blog on the worst WC hairstyles? My nod goes to the player from Italy. You would think with all the money these players earn they could afford decent looking hair.

  • Pedro Lopes

I’m portuguese, and i hope that the french team in the final can stop “le pen”’s supporters about the-not-so-white-flag-of-france… Racist OUT!!! Shame on u who think france is not Zidane and others…
the world like them… remember “CAMUS”…

    thanks Pedro!! You’re right!

    Allez les bleus!

    French – stop dreaming!

Youre predictions about a month ago were spot on. You are not going to win the World Cup.

88 percent of the public felt that they wouldnt reach the final after the match against Togo

86 percent said they would reach the final after the game against Spain :)

Thats the power of one game!

I hope France wins. I wonder if Mr. Le Pen will celebrate knowing that most of the squad is filled with Immigrants.

  • Geraldine

france is the biggest cheater here. a country wch mis treats its immigrants to the point of riots and now glorifies them bcoz they need them. they still believe in the french empire to recrute players fm their ex-colonies!!! the world has not changed much since then…..when they want the poor countries they glorify the ppl when they don’t its a kick up the arse or ur considered a north african immigrant who is by default a terrorist. italy minds its business in its coutry and doesnt play this dirty stuff with these countries. at best they hv a Camoranesi who had italian origins and has simply come back home to his roots!!!

    forza italia! forza azzurri !!!

    Good morning everyone,
I am an haitian who spent my free time watching European championat soccer because America doesn’t have yet a strong championat soccer able to rivalise European soocer. That’s too bad, but it’s a fact. I also studied in France for six years. I like french soccer, because they are great personalities in this team. I would like French team wins against Italy because that could change a little bit the black’s image in France and throughout Europe continent.

  • Raoul

    ALLEZ FRANCE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ROSA

AlleZ les blues!! Guess not, ALLEZ les BLANCS!!! Since France will be wearing their white Jerseys this final match.

Who would’ve thought that this year it would be a European SOCCER cup instead.
