Football Shirts Hall of Shame

By: WC Bob | April 20th, 2006 | 9 Comments »

A few weeks back we provoked the ire of some nations (yeah, we’re talking about you Croatia) when we selected our choices for the worst kits at this year’s World Cup. We still stand by our choices, but after taking a look at some of the fashion disasters throughout history, we are thankful that even this year’s ugliest uniforms are not that bad. There aren’t too many national team jerseys listed on the site, but the ones that are there sure do deserve to be called out (see the Australia kit to your left). So here is your look at some of the worst kits you’ll ever see. This might not be appropriate for those with weak stomachs or adversions to bright colors.

Norway

Ireland

West Germany

Denmark

Wales

Head on over to the store to have a gander at this year’s complete crop of World Cup jerseys.

That Aussie shirt was truly shithouse. I think the only teams we beat while wearing it were those that fell about laughing when we ran onto the pitch.

Bob, you brought tears to my eyes. No not because you mention your earlier post about Croatia’s “unique” kits but because these new examples are so humorous. The German one looks like a Dutch rejection and the one from Wales is groovy. I hope Aussies took what was left of those jerseys and buried them in the Outback. I went back to read the earlier blog because I didn’t come on your site till later. You really steamed some of those Cros. I’m as Croatian as they come and agree that our signature jerseys are different. To be in with Italy is good company in my opinion and now that the international soccer world has grown accustomed to our shirts its not so bad. Thanks for the friendly jesting. Sometimes we over react abit.

Just saw the rest of them at the Hall of Shame. Hey, just shows the whole world has bad taste. Sorry to the Germans identified the Irish jersey as German.

Fantastic collection here mate I must say. Plenty more football shirts that didn’t make the cut that perhaps should of though.
