FIFA Won’t Censor World Cup Blog
This past week FIFA announced its rules for press coverage at the World Cup this summer and they include a ban on news organizations publishing digital images from games for one hour after the final whistle of each match. This form of censorship doesn’t fly here at World Cup Blog so we are going on record as saying that we will be breaking this stupid and unnecessary rule.
At the games we attend this summer in Germany we will be taking photos and uploading them to our site in real time. We will be capturing all the excitement, joy and sorrow and sharing it with viewers from around the world. We will bring the passion into the homes of those who love the World Cup without waiting around for the final whistle to blow and for an arbitrary time to elapse.
In other words, we will be helping to promote the very game that FIFA supposedly exists to protect.
We encourage individuals, websites and news organizations to join us in this effort. After all, we’ll need company when we get thrown into the German jails.
