Essien Fires Back at Critics

Following its disappointing performance in the African Nations Cup, there has been a lot criticism of Ghana in the African press. One of the biggest targets has been Michael Essien, who did not play in the tournament after suffering an injury while playing for his club team Chelsea.

There are some in Ghana who believe that Essien never had any intention of playing in Egypt. There are others who have questioned his loyalty to his country.

Essien answers there allegations and more in a released statement in which he 1) “humbly pleads” with all Ghanaians that their difference are put aside, while 2) also showing that he likes to ennumerate.
