Don’t Have a Cow. Watch those World Cup Bets

If you are banking on your World Cup bets to fund your retirement you are not alone, but as is usually the case you should heed the gambling advice of Cambodia’s prime minister who has told his countrymen: “Go ahead and watch it, but do not sell your cows, motorcycles, cars, homes and land to bet on the games,” Hun Sen said. “Just bet verbally, for fun. Don’t sell your cows to bet on games of football.”

Always solid advice, but it is probably too late for those of you who sold your farm animals to bet on Poland and Costa Rica playing in the final on July 9. Of course, if you made that bet you probably shouldn’t be caring for yourself, let alone animals so all is not lost.
