Definitive World Cup Viewing Figures

   

Media buying and planning firm Initiative released the final and definitive World Cup viewing figures recently.

Here are the stats:


284 million people watched the final

5.9 billion total viewers for the whole tournament

10% more total viewers than 2002

Average of 93 million viewers per match

41% of viewers were female

    Are they saying that only 284 million people watched the final WORLD-WIDE? No WAY is the figure that low, IMO.

    The official figure for the World Final 2006 was 2.1 BILLION…

    Those figures posted on here did not include the viewers in bars nor the 400 Million around the world who watched the game in the centre of the city they live on massive public screens…

    All in all… USA, WHAT IS THIS SUPERBOWL THINGY?????????

    I also forgot to mention that FIFA noted a 51% rise in total viewing figures for the whole tournament compared to 2002 which attracted a total of 22 total match viewing…. 3.5 times more that the planet Earths population… do you think we are a tad over-eager of our beloved sport? 2002 also raked in a total of 49.1 Billion viewing hours!!!! OH MY GOD! I haven’t seen that figure for 2006!!!!
