Czechs Top World Cup Beer Consumption

The Czech Republic is on a roll. Earlier this week its team won the mythical Electronic Arts World Cup simulation. Now it has been recognized as the World Cup country with the top beer consumption per capita. Coincidence? I think not. Those EA programmers probably tilted the game to favor of the beer consuming countries. Here’s a list of the top counties and how many litres of the good stuff they consume per capita each year.

1. Czech Republic 156.9
2. Germany 115.8
3. Australia 109.9
4. UK 99.0
5. Spain 83.8
6. US 81.6
7. Croatia 81.2
8. Netherlands 79.0
9. Poland 69.1
10. Portugal 59.6
11. Switzerland 57.3
12. Mexico 51.8
13. Sweden 51.5
14. Japan 47.6
15. Brazil 47.6
16. South Korea 38.5

I might just drink 99.9 litres while I watch the World Cup this month. Good to squeeze a year’s worth of drinking into one month :-)
