Czech Republic Wins EA World Cup Simulation

By: WC Bob | June 6th, 2006 | 30 Comments »

There’s no need to even play the World Cup now. We know how it is going to turn out. Using a simulation engine in the 2006 FIFA World Cup videogame, Electronic Arts came up with a final between the Czech Republic and Brazil with the Czechs prevailing in the end.

The simulation results included:

  • FIFA World Cup Champion: Czech Republic
  • FIFA World Cup Final: Czech Republic 2 Brazil 1
  • 1st team to be eliminated: Ecuador
  • Golden Shoe winner: Milan Baros, Czech Republic (6 goals)
  • Golden Ball winner: Pavel Nedved, Czech Republic

Here are the complete results of the tournament. Go ahead and take the next month off from watching football. You know how things are going to end up anyhow.

One question: how did EA’s predictions turn out in 2002? Funny how they don’t mention that.

Funny that…I got a mobile world cup planner (www.planyourworldcup.com) and it uses the Fifa seedings to fill in scores…and got a Czech Vs Brazil final but with Brazil winning…I’m off down the bookies.

zé is right, Winning Eleven iz da bomb.

But anyway, EA says Ecuador is first out. Pele says Ecuador will glide through. Since I don’t trust either source, I’m in a pickle.

This is crap…its obvious the Czech is gonnna smash the shit outta USA in the group matches, but I dont know about….well actually they do have a good chance of goin alll the way. But in my dreams last night, I recall seeing Tevez and the argentine team holding the gold cup….”wake up malik!” Lets go Argentina!

Unfortunately for the Czech Republic they will have to win WC 2006 with an Adidas Fussball (German for a soccer ball) and not a Logitech Mouse.

Funny, I tried to do that too. Did you use 45 min halves, or the default 6 min? maybe a different time? how about game speed, slow, fast? I gave up after my simulation of Ivory Coast v Argentina ended 5:4 in favor of Argentina… The results were just too unrealistic, too many goals, and no 0:0 results.

Also, I tried getting rid of the players who didn’t get into the final roster for every country, but found myself in trouble because, as expected, a lot of the players that made selection aren’t in the game, especially for the newcomers like Angola.

Anyways, it must have been a good time waster for these last few days of build up. Just two more days for the real thing!

That’s funny….I got Angola winning.

…that was, of course, after I traded the entire Brazilian team to them :P

Winning Eleven is Absolutely the best soccer game right now no doubt. Fifa is horrible, so horrible.. it’s just really sucks.. anyway so in Winning Eleven the winner was Argentina so ya they’ll win the the predictoin is as good as the game.

Been playing Winning Eleven (or Pro Evolution Soccer) for years now. It kicks FIFA’s buttcheeks. Shame they don’t have all the WC teams to do a true WC (and Australia sucks). Still I beat Brazil, drew with Japan and beat Croatia to win the group, only to lose to France in the semis. Level 4.

Brazilian Feast

Is there going to be a repeat of this in a month’s time?

The sight of my favorite team winning is tremendous. Four years ago I was going crazy over Ronaldo’s performance but when Ronaldinho made that free kick I knew four years after he…

Funny thing, I used the same scores on BBC predictor on their website, and apparently I couldn’t get Brazil Vs USA in the second round.

If Brazil win group F and Czech finsihes 2nd in group E, as predicted in EA, they are gonna meet in the second round. Not USA vs Brazil!

Even if Brazil meets USA and Czech plays against Aussie in the second round, still according to BBC predictor, Brazil will meet Switzerland in quarter finals and Czech will meet France!

I really don’t know whats going on anymore!

Quarter Finals
———————————————————————-
Brazil 1 Ronaldo
France 0

Czech Rep. 3 Baros, Smicer, Koller
Switzerland 0

Lookig again at the results, must say I don’t believe Mexico could beat HOL just like that AND, it’d be so, so, so, so funny to see GER beating ENG 1-0… :-)

[...] The Czech Republic is on a roll. Earlier this week its team won the mythical Electronic Arts World Cup simulation. Now it has been recognized as the World Cup country with the top beer consumption per capita. Coincidence? I think not. Those EA programmers probably tilted the game to favor of the beer consuming countries. Here’s a list of the top counties and how many litres of the good stuff they consume per capita each year. [...] Another World Cup blog I’ve been following, which appears to be a compendium of several blogs, is another nice source of minutiae and news, including the news that the Czech Republic will win the Cup based on computer simulations. It’s utter bullshit if you ask me, but they do have the Czechs beating the Brazilians in the Final 2-1. The full results of the simulation are here. [...]

Well, here comes the biggest shocker. My algorithmic asynchronous calculation tells me that Ghana and Brazil will meet in the finals with Ghana pulling through on penalty. Sounds strange but check this out: They are two opposites, two extremes and a perfect match for a perfect final.

We sure have seen such games @ U-17 and i can assure it’s gonna come real this time too.

Well that you might believe:
The chances of Ghana winning the world cup is as low as the chances of Brazil losing out on the worldcup

The discerning are watching. Holla myduke@breakthru.com when it comes thru.

Argentina will win the world cup! I played a funny game and Argentina always win, it´s an american game… but, it´s only a game… same that game “EA World Cup Simulation” mmm.

República Checa no puede llegar ni a cuartos de finales… seguro!

Saludos.
