Cote d’Ivoire Stays Alive; Tunisia Out

By: WC Bob | February 4th, 2006 | No Comments »

What an incredible day at the African Nations Cup in Egypt. Cote d’Ivoire is the last World Cup qualifier left standing after defeating Cameroon 12-11 in an epic penalty shootout that saw all 22 players convert before Samuel Eto’o finally missed for the Lions. In the other quarterfinal match, defending champion Tunisia fell to Nigeria 6-5 in another classic shootout. For pure drama, you can’t get any better than today.
