Still on Cape Verde - wonder why you ask - the coach’s name is Jose Rui. He used to play in Portugal for Vitoria de Setubal - the club who lost the portuguese cup final last saturday to FC Porto, although winning it last year.

It is also the club a certain Jose Mourinho supports… ;-) Very nice city, by the way, less than 1 hour south of Lisbon.

Thanks Pedro. I’m always on the lookout for new favorite teams to support. Maybe after Angola wins the World Cup this year I will help Cape Verde qualify for 2010.

Coaches must have their reasons for scheduling friendlies so close to their WC matches, but I wonder if these contests might do more harm than good. Specifically, I’m thinking of the injury risks.

Bob,

The dates for Team USA’s friendlies appear to be in error. Additionally, they actually play 3 games this week.

On 23 May, they play Morocco.
On 26 May, they play Venezuela.
On 28 May, they play Latvia.

Does anyone know where these friendlies are being played? Especially the later ones (i.e. after May 29th), as most of them should be in Europe somewhere.
