Does Jurgen Klinsmann have a big set of cojones or just a terrific sense of humor? The embattled German coach and proud resident of California proclaimed today that he is considering staying on as Germany’s manager after the World Cup. This is quite the proclamation to make considering the heat Klinsmann is facing in Germany is hotter than the famed Santa Ana winds.

As a matter of fact, just today former German international Stefan Effenberg called for Klinsmann’s head on a platter.

“If I was in charge then I would get rid of Klinsmann right away and get Ottmar Hitzfeld in,” Effenberg told Bild daily. “I would even suggest doing that before the United States game.”

If that isn’t enough Klinsmann bashing for you, here’s some more:

“I know Klinsmann and he will not give an inch. The rest of the world is laughing at us and the others are losing respect,” Effenberg said.

So there you have it. Effenberg has answered our question. That Klinsmann sure is one funny guy.
