BudOut: The Global Movement against World Cup Dishwater

By: WC Bob | May 13th, 2006 | 3 Comments »

Some call it dishwater. We call it paint thinner. Anyway you say it, if you don’t like the official beer of the World Cup you can become a part of the BudOut community. We’re not exactly sure what it means to be a member, but we sure like the sound of this promise if you join: “Your voice does matter. Become part of the BudOut-Community and send us a picture with you anti-bud-message. Two minutes of your life for the good taste. Two minutes of your life for a better future.” Hopefully the Bud Out website won’t be under construction too much longer because we can’t wait much longer for a better future. Until then, we’ll just get by with the mother of all inventions.

[...] First, the great beer controversy. From the World Cup blog comes a story about a new website called BudOut, whose sole purpose is to get Budweiser removed as the official sponsor of the World Cup. No kidding. Fifa blew this endorsement deal. What, couldn’t find any beer in Germany? Yeah, the stuff is pretty tough to find over there. [...]
