Breaking News: Your Liver is Spared from having to Swim in Budweiser

By: WC Bob | April 5th, 2006 | 2 Comments »

For months now World Cup Blog has taken a firm and principled stand against the mere idea of having to drink the paint thinner American beer called Budweiser while on German soil during the World Cup. Today the beer gods have heard us. As part of a settlement of a legal dispute over the name Budweiser, an agreement has been reached that will allow the German beer maker Bitburger to sell its beer at all stadiums during the tournament. This is huge and glorious news for anyone going to the World Cup. It very well could lead to world peace and a cure for cancer. We’ve never been so thankful for lawyers and lawsuits. We’re heading down the street to the corner pub right now. The first round is on us!

Bob you’ve insulted paint thinner all over the world. I was just thinking today “what lubricates the fans while watching the WC since its an international affair of epic proportions”. I personally enjoy La Belle Strasbourg from Alsace-Lorraine and Paulaner Salvatore. What are other personal favorites out there? I also like Yinpu a rice beer, yes rice beer, from China. Go to the website if you’re curious.

That is good news. Well, you know why Budweiser is like making love in a canoe?
