I already made a thread like this over in the World Cup subforum but before this gets locked I guess I could toss in my hat in terms of worst games – Ukraine vs. Portugal!

Argentina vs Brazil would undoubtedly be the best final.

The worst would be England vs. Ukraine…half the world be in coma by the end of it if we had to sit through that for 90 minutes.

The best final would have been…

Turkey vs. Ghana

with a big fun party for everyone in the field for all spectators, German beers in hand.

Neither qualified, unfortunately.

I am tired of Brasilians.
I am scared of the Germans.
I think the English are not passionate enough.
I am disappointed at the Italians.
I saw the Argentinians’ audacity disappear in front of Mexico.
I never noticed when the Ukranians came out.
Portugal, maybe.
Spain, too bad.
Switzerland, big heart, no penalty.
Sweden, I wished they didn’t argue as much as the Italians.

I am dreaming of another one.

Notice that we have 8 groups at the beginning. Now we have exactly one team from each group to go to the next round. Among 8 teams, 6 were ranked #1 in the group, and 2 (FRA and UCR) were ranked #2.

My conclusion is there might not be truly a group of death this year.

all i have to say is if the final was ukraine vs england that would be the only match in the whole tournament i didnt at least partially watch.

I guess Brazil_fan must be one of those year 2000 Florida voters. How can you pick Brazil – France as the best and Germany – Italy as the worst? Those combinations are impossible for the final and can only happen in the semi-finals.
Best: Germany vs. England (payback for 1966 and the 5-1 thrashing for Euro Cup qualification a few years ago).
Worst: Portugal – Ukraine (let’s just skip the potential dozen yellow cards for Portugal and go right to PKs. No use wasting time with the other 120 minutes of shere boredom).

The best would undoubtedly be ARGENTINA vs BRAZIL. This would be THE clash of the ages, insofar as these two countries have produced the most skill throughout the years. The whole world consistently looks at and expects these two countries to produce the next super talented players. However, Germany has had strong team play often throughout the years as well. So Germany – Brazil would obviously also be great. Portugal are France are so talented this year that seeing one of them in the final would also be nice.
There really is no truly bad final, but the worst in terms of skilled soccer would probably be England vs Ukraine.

The worst final for everyone but Chelsea would be any final involving Ukraine, but Sepp won’t let that happen. He and his refs did the best they could to insure only “name” teams made it to the QFs.

I only saw England in their game against Sweden, and it was a very good match. Maybe the game against Ecuador was boring, but generally I dont think the English play bad. I beleive they will get past the Portugese, who wont be playing in their best lineup.

From what i saw from the Ukraine, they have absolutely no chance to get to the finals.

Best finals would be Brazli vs Argentina, worst Italy vs France

( I actually like the French team, but this game could be even more dull than most of France vs. Spain :)))

now we have two teams eliminated ukrane and argentina i would say the best final will be germany and brazil the rematch of 2002 and this time the germans are not going to be intimidated by ronaldo and the absense of rivaldo will make them feel more comfortable i am a brazillian fan but i dont see the gretness of adriano if rubinio is feeling good that is the best player who can change the out come for brazil he has so much skill so my guess is germany will win even though i hate to admit that for the first time in my life i was rooting for germany to beat argentina i admire the skills of argentinians but i simply dont like them Brazil is my favourite and i love the english crazy fans who live and die with their teams if england win the world cup i will equally enjoy as a brazilian victory i would say france italy will be scoreless game and italians will win with penalty the french are ok but they are not like the french of 1998 and they were great and played beautiful football in the days of platini and tigana but those days are gone
