Big Question: Which Games Should I Avoid Like the Plague?
Yesterday I offered the top five first round World Cup matches that under no circumstance should you miss. Today I present four games that you have no reason to watch unless you are a glutton for punishment or you hail from one of the countries involved. When these games are on, you are better off watching your fingernails grow, while learning Esperanto.
Korea Republic – Togo, June 13, Frankfurt
You’ll be missing the World Cup debut of Togo and who knows when the Sparrowhawks will be in the tournament again, but really shouldn’t you be doing your laundry this night so you have clean clothes for the next month?
Ecuador – Costa Rica, June 15, Hamburg
Try as hard as I might, I can never remember which of these teams I am supposed to root for. I like them both. I don’t like either. I’m confused. I think this would be a good night to break out the videos of Argentina’s World Cup run in 1986. Afterward, check in with Trent’s Ecuador blog because it will have the best information about Ecuador in English in this entire universe. That is our money back guarantee.
Paraguay – Trinidad and Tobago, June 20, Kaiserlautern
There’s a good chance that both these teams will be eliminated from group play by this point. There is a better chance that World Cup Blog will still be looking for someone, anyone, to blog about Paraguay.
Saudi Arabia – Tunisia, June 14, Munich
Yesterday I called this a must see game. Don’t believe the hype.
