Ball from Controversial World Cup Match Returns to South Korea

It is not every day that you get to read about a ball from a controversial match, an Egyptian referee and “the Alien”, but leave it to this story to deliver all three. I’m sure the exhibit will be especially popular with Spanish tourists visiting South Korea, especially the ones who remember the terrible call made at the end of the video below.

I am a true Spanish fans. I was very sad at the moment when Joaquin’s cross was met the head by Moro but the goal was disallowed. The first one still comprehendable but that last one, it doesnt need a linesman to note that the ball is still on play. However, I didnt really argue with that, I accept the defeat, something that fans of france havent been able to cope with.

That was a painfull video to watch and brought back a flood of painfull memories.

For some of the people who believe Fifa and the Referees favour the bigger clubs just watch the video and remember WC 2002.

So corrupt….someone should throw together all of Italy’s disallowed goals of that WC

Brought back painful memories – proof that video evidence is essential in deciding on questionable offside decisions that deny a team a goal. It would take less time to review the evidence than the time wasted from players arguing with the referee and the referee trying to maintain some form of respect.

Also shows that home teams always winning is more than just a crowd effect, doesnt it?

As an Italian fan it brought back painful memories but hey, we obvious regrouped and tried again, eh? A disallowed goal and too much extra time led to our loss.

This is pretty bad but not AS bad as the unfortuneate Spanish who lost out on 2 perfectly good goals and a date in the semifinals because of corruption…
