Announcer Sacked, Maradona’s Buddy Barred, French Door Attacked
The scuffle that took place between Argentina and Germany following Friday’s match was not the only thing to give a black eye to an otherwise enjoyable quarterfinal match. Breaking the rules set out by FIFA and general etiquette, the stadium announcer at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium apparently urged on the German supporters to back their team. As a result of this transgression he has been sacked. One person who did not get a chance to hear the announcer cheerlead for Germany was Argentina’s biggest cheerleader, Diego Maradona.
The Argentina legend refused to enter the stadium after one of his entourage was denied entrance to the match.
“Maradona’s delegation was told in advance that one particular person would not get a ticket because this person has been rude repeatedly during the World Cup and even became almost physically aggressive,” a FIFA mouthpiece said. “We’re sorry if Diego Maradona didn’t want to accept that. He and a certain number of companions are welcome at any time.”
We’ve never heard of Franz Beckenbauer having such a problem and he hangs out a lot with that nuisance Sepp Blatter all the time.
Meanwhile, France is in hot water after someone kicked in a door follow their tie against South Korea in Leipzig. Some snitches say it was that immature brat Zinedine Zidane, but the French team says their captain would never do such a horrible thing.
“The French national team would like to clearly state that Zinedine Zidane did not kick in the door in Leipzig and nobody from the French delegation kicked it either,” organising commitee spokesman Gerd Graus said at a daily media briefing.
“We don’t know who it was and we are not going to hire a private detective to find out, but Zinedine Zidane did not do it.”
Yes, this case certainly does merit the use of a private detective. We suggest hiring the stadium announcer in Berlin. He could use a job.

I don’t know why Sepp Blatter doesn’t want to support Beckenbauer for FIFA president. The two are so similiar. Each one has a stupid mouth. The big difference is that the Kaiser knows how to play while Sepp is lost in the ozone.

Once again, you’d think you could enjoy watching games at the World Cup without all the “side dish” crap: Here we go again with the scandals.
Yesterday, Argentinians accused Germans of making racist remarks. I mean, anything is possible. The accuser says he understands German, etc., etc. I hope he gave his interview to the press in German, we would have proof of this.
Maradona refused to get in the stadium because of his friend? Great. It shows he is a man of principle, and he doesn’t discriminate against the crowd of “unprivileged” he had to sit with and watch the game with out in the square. That shows character!

Gian Luca: Maradona had an admittance ticket for him and four more guests. He showed up with six more guests. Among them was a guy that had been with him before and that had been banned from the stadiums after he had broken cabin installations after a game.
If anything, I think FIFA were the ones right here — instead of sticking up with bad attitude just because “he’s Maradona’s friend”, they said enough is enough and refused to let the guy in. Maradona should have known better than tagging along with hooligans and expecting FIFA to accept them just because he’s famous.

Eto… a better man than Zidane…
I loved Zidane and I highly respect him…Whatever Insults he got from the Italian Defender was very Bad… But He should have reported it and protest to the ref:.. and force the game to stop… as they waited for penalty shoot out… the few tricks sportsmen do….just like Eto. Eto was abused in most of the games he played ..Racist Remarks… But he has been the best in handling abuse remarks… Praise be to Eto..He is a true sportsman
