Don’t call me a crazy Mexican fan, but I read somewhere Mexico was 14th, because they actually consider a win or lose in Extra time as a draw, but still count the goals in the goal difference. It makes sense as it is a 90 minute result that gives the points. Anyways, that would put Mexico on top of Sweden. This I read was, of course, in the Mexican media, but said it was official by FIFA. This criteria would also put Argentina below England, by the way.

Gus - I believe they only get a point if they lose in a penalty shoot out and not in extra time. At least that is how they did it in 1998 and 2002.

In either case, England still ends with 11 pts from 3 wins, a draw, and a draw that ended in a penalty shoot out.

I am so proud… Unlike 1998 we did better than Iran!

I hope next time the USA can do better than angola and Tunisia.

I guess Ivory Coast and the Czech Republic should also be tied for the 19th spot.

Does anyone else think it’s ironic that the USA is tied with Iran??

Very funny.

Switzerland and Ukraine should have been penalised for their gutless bore-draw in the Rd of 16.

Not only did I waste over two hours of my life on that match, but, and maybe I’m just being a petty little man here, I’m still a bit angry that players could go out and put on tripe like that in front of a watching world thinking that that was a good way to represent their nation.

At least the Swiss were ashamed enough to bottle all their penalties.

32: Ukraine

LOL, and that’s at you, not with you. You made your point clear on:

Enjoy your 0-0 draws. Obviously you enjoy the game on a completely different level than I do.

Apart from Argentina-Mexico and Germany-Italy, the 2006 tournament has been complete crap.

I’d rather watch pigs vomiting blood inside an abbatoir.

FACT.

does anyone think its a little strange that the USA is ranked 5th in the world, yet they didn’t even reach the second round and all they got was two goals and 1 point. they finished equal 25th. I’m not trying to say that they suck, maybe they just had a bad tournament, and bad luck. Also the Czech Republic was ranked second in the world, and they didn’t show any of that quality, except against the USA, 3-0. surely a team ranked second could reach the second round of the world cup. My point here is that some teams are over-rated, and some teams are under-rated.
