FIFA Rankings October 2006
It is that time of the month when we all get to sit back and chuckle at the FIFA rankings system. There is once again no change at the top with Brazil holding the number one ranking for what seems like the 7,000th month in a row. There is also no change at the bottom with American Samoa still winless after 20 years. In between, there are a bunch of changes. Malta is a big mover and shaker advancing 33 places after stunning Hungary earlier this month for their first win since 1993. My beloved Kazakhstan has fallen big time after a pair of home losses in Euro 2008 qualifying. The United States remains the 29th best team in the world, mere centimetres better than Guinea.
