April 2007 FIFA World Rankings

It is everyone’s favorite time of the month when the powers that be at FIFA release their list of world rankings. After holding on to the top ranking last month, Argentina has been surpassed by Italy whose win over Scotland in Euro 2008 was the difference. Further down the list is Turkey, which moved up 10 spots and now is ranked 17th. My beloved Kazakhstan is now 116th in the world after moving up 27 spots. That is what a win will do for you. The top mover, however, was Lichtenstein which advanced 31 spots. Lest you think it is all about change, for the 100th year in a row American Samoa is ranked last. At least they are consistent.

Lucky you, Bob, your Snow Leopards are on the rise. My Canadians are in 94th. Sigh.
