Brazil Coach Parreira Talks and We Were There

I was doing my normal incessant monitoring of the Web last night for World Cup stories when I came across one that said at a press conference on Tuesday Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira had named his starting lineup for the opening match against Croatia. An interesting story on its own, but at almost the exact moment I got an excited email from our Brazil blogger Euler that said something to the effect of, “I can hardly breathe. I met Mario Lobo Zagallo and Parreira today. I can hardly type.”

Fortunately, Euler calmed down enough to put his fingers to the keyboards and to deliver the inside dirt on Parerrira’s press conference. It is a fun read and it got me all excited even though I am not a fan of Brazil. I bet you Euler and the other fans that were there are walking on air today.

Part 1: Inside scoop! Meet our managers!

Part 2: Inside scoop #2! Meet Zagallo!

Part 3: Inside scoop #3! Meet Parreira!

I’ve also been told that our Croatia blogger Soze might be meeting with a legendary player later this week. Stay tuned to his blog for more details…

I worked in the same building as CBF for almost 2 years. It was great. I could watch the roster announces and even meet some people like Zagallo, Branco and Dunga.

Euler is the guy in the picture who hasn’t played in the World Cup. But he might be tapped for 2010…
