1st of all its not an easy group & i’ll tip paraguay to finish 2nd. paraguayans know wat is it like playing soccer powerhouses (arg & bra in qualifiers,copa america) so playin england & sweden wont b something new or complicated task, they surely know how to deal with them. since the last two world cups they have a good record at group stages but things can b different this time without the legendary chilavert. i prefer star teams like eng, swe to advance but i think the final standings will b;
1)eng 2)par 3)swe 4)T&T

with teams like eng, swe, par cant even predict 3rd slot for T&T but lets not forget underdogs hav won championships “GREECE” :D.

I think that sweden or england will be on top of the group but paraguay has a very good chance. Not too sure how T&T can make it through the next round but who knows!

No Rooney. ‘nough said.

Seriously, who’s going to pair with Michael Owen - Peter Crouch? the young (and fabulously unexperienced) Theo?

Really, Sven, what were you thinking? If Rooney’s a bust, then you’ve got to have some striking power. You admit that you haven’t even see Theo play. Maybe Arsene really is running things at the FA.

And, in taking the kid, you’ve left Darren Bent at home. You know, Darren Bent, the best English striker in the EPL.

Meanwhile, Sweden is quietly putting together a very, very solid team. OJ, there is much to be said for the talent of individual players; however, team strength is more than just the collective strength of individuals.

Let’s not forget that Sweden pipped England in 2002, having scored more goals than England, to win the group.

Plus, Sweden won its group in Euro 2004 (which included Italy), scoring 8 goals.

This year, they’re pairing Ibrahimovich and Larsson. How many times will we see Larsson’s tongue?

Sweden - 1st
England - 2nd

Paraguay 2006 is just not as good as Paraguay 1998 or 2002. They will get a low scoring (0-0 or 1-1) draw against Sweden and they’ll lose to England by one goal margin (0-1).

The Sweden vs England game will end up 1-1 or 0-0 (again, low scoring draw here).

Cajun Nick, Sweden did win their groups in WC 2002 and Euro 2004 by drawing 2 games and winning 1. I believe they’ll end up with 5 points (again), which will be enough for them to go through, but not as a group winner though. Not this time.

Regarding Trinidad Tobago, I don’t think the 4th best Concacaf team deserve to be in the World Cup.

Pedro P, group H is tougher than this group, but I won’t go into details now.

1. Sweden
2. England
3. Paraguay
4. T&T

England has a good team even without Rooney, but Sweden really impressed me in the last few matches I’ve seen them play.

I don’t know. Sweden isn’t the same anymore but England lost their strikers. So Paraguay hava a little chance here.

In my opinion, England is going to win this group. Sweden and Paraguay are good teams and they have to fight for the second place. I find a little advantage for Sweden but you never know about Paraguayans. Trinidad and Tobago is the weakest team here.

1.- England.
2.- Sweden.
3.- Paraguay.
4.- Trinidad and Tobago.

I alluded to this earlier, but let me expand my thoughts a little bit more:

I do believe that England have the most individually talented players in the group. However, those individual players have to combine their talents in such a way so that their collective ability is at least as good, if not better.

This is where I think that Sweden have the edge.

Given some of the decisions regarding the team selection that Sven made, I think that the mindset on the England team will be a little off. Surely, Sven has lost the boys a little bit.

I know, I know - These guys are professionals. They’re going to give 100%. We can’t, however, discount the annoyance that some of the England players will have at knowing that the best selections weren’t made.

This is not the time to sow any seeds of doubt in the squad, which is what Sven has done.

Paraguay of 2006 is not the same as the Paraguay of 2002 (Because we will have a goalkeeper that is not out of shape like Chilavert in that WC) and is not the same team of 1998 (Now we actually have forwards ;-))

I am not surprise that the people understimate Paraguay, I think that is even better because you take off all the presure from the team, let us see how well play the spice boys with the presure of being one of the favorites to the championship, remember Argentina 2002, there believe that they were the Champions even before the tournament begun.

What I am saying is that now we have a team that actually is capable of scoring with the same strong defense…

My prediction:

1. Sweden
2. Paraguay
3. England
4. T&T

Yeah, I’ll have to go with with WCB on this one:

Sweden 3 wins
England 1-1-1
Paraguay 1-1-1
T & T 3 losses

England are unfortunately in disarray, but I think they will squeeze by to the next round.

This is a though one, but I think the three teams that’ll have a chance of qualifying from the groups are Sweden, England and Paraguay. I think it’s stupid to underestimate Paraguay ’cause they’ve really shown that they are football professionals with a good team spirit. I don’t know who will come on which place but as a Swede I of course hope that Sweden will win and I do think we have a chance. As Zlatan Ibrahimovic said: ‘Course everyone should go to the championships with the mentality of “we can go all the way”.

I am still hopeful that Trinidad & Tobago will advance. If they can win 2-0 to Paraguay they will most likely do it. I know it’s a long shot but here are my picks

1. England
2. Trinidad
3. Sweden
4. Paraguay

well the current standings are:
1. England (2 wins)
2. Sweden (1 win, 1 draw)
3. Trinidad & Tobago (Soca Warriors) (1 draw 1 loss)
4. Paraguay (2 losses)

They say that if T&T beat Paraguay (by atleast 2 goals) in d last match & if England beat Sweden it could look something like this:

1. England (3 wins)
2. Trinidad & Tobago (1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss)
3. Sweden (1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss)
4. Paraguay (3 losses)
