World Cup News Map

I’ve always been a big fan of maps and globes. I enjoy looking at the names of obscure places in obscure countries and imagining that some day I might actually get a chance to travel to them. Now when you take a map and throw in official World Cup news from Yahoo, host cities news from Google and the latest team blog posts from World Cup Blog, you’re talking hours of fun. That is exactly what you’ll find on this one-of-a-kind map created by our pal Virender Ajmani. Heck, you can even check out the traffic jams in Detroit and thank your lucky stars that you don’t live there.

[...] Our pal Oscar, who runs the very helpful Soccer Blogs aggregator site, has put together a pretty cool map that shows where the players for a few of the World Cup teams play their club football. So far he has only entered in the data for Spain, England, United States and Mexico but it still pretty neat to be able to zoom in and see the various stadiums from satellite. I only hope he adds the Angola players soon since I’d love to see some of their stadiums. While we are in the map talking business, if you haven’t checked out the specially made World Cup news map yet, you should. You’ll have no reason not to pass the geography exam we’re going to give next week. Fancy a flutter?
