What Next for World Cup Blog?

By: Daryl | February 12th, 2008 | 2 Comments »

What next for World Cup Blog? Now that the Africa Cup of Nations is over, you might be wondering what’s next for World Cup Blog. How will we fill the days with no more Hosny Abd Rabou hammer strikes, Salomon Kalou slaloms or Manucho magic?

Luckily for us, there’s loads more international football on the horizon. Qualification for World Cup 2010 continues throughout 2008, with teams in every region beginning the journey to South Africa. There’ll be coaching hirings and firings and all sorts of players doing all sorts of blogworthy things. Like making money or making trouble.

There’s also the little matter of Euro 2008, which will be getting our full attention this summer. There’ll be team blogs, LiveBlogs and reports on everything from how the players are shaping up to how much a beer will cost you in Austria and/or Switzerland. I can tell you right now that it’s way more expensive in Switzerland.

Big thanks to everyone who’s followed the Africa Cup of Nations on World Cup Blog, and here’s hoping the rest of 2008 is as good as the last three weeks.

Al, there’s no reason for this coverage to stop just because the tournament’s over. I hope you’ll join us in encouraging all of our team bloggers to stay on and continue covering their national teams as the teams head into World Cup qualifying. We’d love nothing more than to have every team in the world covered on this blog.
