Whoops I guess I caused a confusion by calling the youth World Cup: 'FIFA U19 World Cup'[sic] while the World Cup isn't under the age of 19 but 20. My apologies for that.

To be absolutely clear I was talking about the FIFA U20 World Cup NOT the Euro U19 semi-final. :)

I think I misunderstood your original comment. I thought you were referring to qualifying for the knock-out stage of the U19 tournament that is currently taking place, of which only the top two teams in each group qualify for the semi-finals (semis=only 4 teams).

I think you are referring to that fact that the U19 tournament also serves as a qualification for the European representatives to U20 World Cup tournament that happens next year. If so, you are correct that the top 3 teams from each group qualify for the U20 FIFA World Cup.

The top three of every group qualify for the FIFA U19 World Cup, it's impossible for France, with six points, to end up last in the group.

Thanks for the correction- I just mistakenly typed the other way around.

Actually, there are two teams with three points (NED and ENG)- if France lose the next game, and these teams have a great goal difference then they will progress and France will not. Again, not likely (given France's high goal ratio). This is my understanding of the group standings anyway…
