Taking it to the Grave

By: WC Bob | May 1st, 2006 | No Comments »

As German businesses gear up for an expected windfall from the World Cup, a funeral home in Bad Salzuflen is providing a rather unique service. Kramer Funerals is offering specially designed coffins painted in the colors of your favorite football team. For those taking the cremation route, you can still show your loyal and undying (pun intended) support to the end. The funeral home also offers football-shaped urns in your team’s colors. All of this naturally begs the question, if your World Cup team was a coffin what would it look like?

The Germany coffin would, of course, be sturdy, reliable and not especially flashy.

The USA coffin would be the fourth ranked coffin in the world even though it realistically is about the tenth best coffin on the market.

The England coffin would be the darling of the media but in the end it would have a small crack in a key position.

The Australia coffin would include a beer tap.

The France coffin would be old and it probably would include a few of their current players.

The Spain coffin would look great but would disappoint in the end.

The Brazil coffin would have a lot of style and elegance.

The World Cup Blog coffin would be filled with letters from FIFA threatening it with lawsuits.

Ok, you can probably do better than this…
