“Dutch grass is just that one bit better”

By: WC Bob | May 5th, 2006 | 2 Comments »

Yes, those words have been heard by many a backpacker in Amsterdam, but today the quote comes from a spokeswoman for the Dutch company that is providing the turf for seven of the 12 World Cup stadiums. The company will begin harvesting the grass next week and transporting the turf in refrigerated trucks to the various venues. To review: the grass is coming from Holland, the beer is coming from the United States, the hooligans are coming from Poland and England, and the prostitutes are coming from Eastern Europe. This truly will be a global party. Thirty-five days to go!

Yeah, you’re right, Bob… trully global! I only hope the clowns won’t be comming from the latin part of Europe, like 4 years ago… I mean POR, SPA (actually, these guys story is more for crying than laughing), FRA and ITA kinda become the laughing stock…

I’m still laughing at Italy, actually… ;-) Sorry, Massimo…
