Cycling 4,000 Miles to Meet Oliver Kahn

By: WC Bob | June 13th, 2006 | 2 Comments »

To what length would you go to meet your hero? Whatever your answer is, it probably doesn’t compare with what a couple of football fans from Uzbekistan have done this World Cup. The pair has bicycled 4,000 miles to get an autograph from Oliver Kahn. Personally I’d bike 4,000 miles to never see Oliver Kahn’s mug again, but you have to admire the dedication of the Uzbeks, who burst into tears when they finally met Kahn. Presumably those were tears of joy and not tears of fright.

That is what I call passion with a bit of insanity. I wonder what they would’ve done if they were not allowed in Germany and told to go back? Sepuku I guess.
