THE BIG PICTURE
Technically Saudi Arabia is not out of it. They need a win against Spain and enough goals to bring them out of a -4 goal differential hole. They also need a loss or tie by Ukraine when they play Tunisia. So basically it’s a formality that may afford Fernando Torres, who leads all scorers with 3 goals, a few more opportunities to extend his lead. There’s nothing wrong with that, and we’ll probably get to see Spain’s bench and midfielder Iniesta as they rest their players with yellows.

Spain will relive history by ejecting the Arab hoard from European soil. I can’t wait for this game. As a bonus, maybe the King of Saud will cut off their heads when they get home.
