THE BIG PICTURE
Mexico enters the game sky high after withstanding an early scare from Iran in its 3-1 victory Sunday. El Tri was paced by a pair of goals from forward Omar Bravo. Mexico looks to book its ticket in the round of 16 with a win today against Angola. The underdog Palancas Negras have gained some confidence following their 1-0 loss to Portugal on Sunday. Angola knows that it needs to come away with a result if it has any chance of sticking around past the opening round. Mexican striker Jared Borgetti is out with an injury. Group D table

Angola

One of the national dishes of Angola is funge, a corn paste that is quite heavy. If you eat it, make sure you give your body 24-48 hours to digest it.

Angola keeper Ricardo and forward Akwa do not play for any club teams at the moment. After strong performances by both players on Sunday that might change soon enough.

Angola coach Luis Oliveira Goncalves: “We are one of the most humble teams here but on the 16th I am going to ask the players to win and not only defend. We recognise Mexico are very strong but we will complicate things for them.”

Mexico

Mexico conceded the first World Cup goal when Lucien Laurent scored for France on July 13, 1930.

There is approximately one chicken for every human being in the world.

You can watch a version of the Family Fued on Mexican television. It is called 100 Mexicanos Dijeron.
