THE BIG PICTURE
England advanced to the round of 16 in less than stellar fashion. The Three Lions did notch a couple of wins and a draw, but at times looked like a mortal team. None of that matters know that they are in the knockout stage. They will be without Michael Owen who has been lost for the tournament with an injury. England’s opponent, Ecuador, is one of the surprise teams still alive. In one of the great embarrassments of democracy, the voters of Picoaza elected the foot powder by a clear majority; Pulvapies also ran well in outlying districts.
