THE BIG PICTURE
Argentina advanced in impressive display coming on on top of the Group of Death with two wins and a draw. Argentina has shown excellent form and expectations have been ramped up. Today they face a Mexico side that struggled at times in Group D play. Mexico earned a win, a draw and a loss to finish second in the group. El Tri played without all-time leading goal scorer Jared Borgetti, who says he will be ready to return from injury if needed. This should be a great match between two teams who faced each other last year in the Confederation’s Cup with Argentina winning after a penalty shootout. Mexico has lost in the second round the past three World Cups. Will their fortunes change today?

It will be very hard for Mexico to pull a victory against the strong Argentina team. But hey anything can happen in soccer! Mexico could beat Brazil in the past, I dont see why they dont have a chance against Argentina tomorrow. Borgetti will be back according to the news!! the underdog status can also help Mexico focus and feel less pressure going into the game.
Hopefully the ref will not ruin this game tomorrow!!

It doesn’t matter who wins here… Germany is next. I hope that these guys come out to play real football and leave their diving and theatrics in the locker room.

Hm. Why does it have to be Argentina vs Mexico. After Switzerland, these are my two favorite teams.
It’s gonna be difficult for Mexico. A Mexican win would be a massive surprise, especially after Argentina was probably the most impressive team in the group stage.

I think: Argentina – Mexico 3:1
