Watch International Friendlies Online

It is a busy day in the land of international football teams with many countries building up towards the start of Euro 2008 qualifying. Fortunately our friends in China are up to the task of providing the World Wide Web with streaming video of many of these contests. Here’s a sample of the games you can check out while you surf the Web for the latest news about Paris Hilton’s pimples.

Poland vs. Denmark

Norway vs. Brazil

Germany vs. Sweden

Italy vs. Croatia

England vs. Greece

Not a bad lineup at all. The games can be found here. As is usually the case, it is best to use Internet Explorer and to have a lot of patience. A modicum of Chinese also will help you navigate things. Best of luck with your viewing endeavors.

Yeah, I thought italy were invincible, unbeatable, and everyone else in the world was crap. At least — according to the boors on the italy blog.

Take it easy lazaro, Italian fans may talk trash but they don’t seriously believe they are unbeatable or invincible, they are just enjoying some success after a long 24 year wait, don’t be a killjoy. I watched the game. The Italians fielded a B team with 7 uncapped players but I felt they did alright considering the lack of experience on the squad. Croatia played very well, I hope Croatia continue on in this manner, they could be a very dangerous team in their qualification group.

Fair enuf JohnB, but when I read and hear italian fans trash everyone else in racist terms, esp. the French, and act like the most graceless offensive winners on the planet (making the Brazilians look like paragons of grace and generosity), I lose all my willingness to show them some generosity of my own. Right after their victory I went onto a number of blogs on the net to offer my sincere congratulations and compliments (even tho I was heartbroken at France’s loss and at what happened with Zidane, and no I’m not French). I was appalled (and continue to be) at what I saw on those blogs. When I hear these italy fans talk as if italy just sailed thru and beat a so-called crappy worthless loser French team (as if only crappy worthless teams reach the finals of the World Cup), then I think well maybe their victory wasn’t impressive after all since winning against a worthless loser team isn’t anything to write home about.

Wow, do the Italian haters REALLY wanna sue this loss as some big sign of Italy’s talent?1 Its a frekin FRIENDLY! The whole point of friendly’s is to try out new things and not care how they result, just as long as you can see where to go from there. With that B lineup, it makes sense they would lose. I doubt they care.

diego, of course a friendly like this is no indication of italy’s potential in international play. I simply wrote an admittedly obnoxious message because in response to all the graceless and self-obsessed stuff I’ve seen on the italy blog full of anti-French venom (it’s ok to hate france, bad to hate italy) and lots of supremacist crap that labels others lower life forms for not being born italian. I rarely see any generous, fair posts from any italy fans around here.

I’m Italian and Football is a great game. Italy has suffered some crushing defeats; the Joules Rimme trophy 1970, the world cup penalty shootout in 94, the 2000 Euro to France. Offcourse I would have preferred Italy to win but I nonetheless enjoyed the anticipation the emotion and spectacle. This world cup Italy did a win. All my non Italian friends congratulated me, shared in my joy and partook in my hospitality. But many months I still hear, and read, brusque and disparaging utterance whose intention is to wound and demean. It’s a game, enjoy it, win loose or draw. If you’re angry or arrogant you have missed the point.
