Slaven Bilić Rocks

By: Daryl | December 27th, 2007 | 1 Comment »

Slaven Bilic rocksLiterally. There was always something very rock n roll about Slaven Bilić. He was one of the last professional footballers who unashamedly smoked, puffing his way through a respectable career at Hajduk Split, Karlsruher, Eveton and West Ham. Now he’s very successfully managing the Croatian national team, but when he’s not conquering England home and away or haunting Steve McClaren’s fevered nightmares, Bilić is busy with his band, Rawbau. Like all bands, Rawbau has a MySpace page where you can have a listen. Singing in Croatian, they’re billed as ” Healing & EasyListening / Religious / Experimental” but actually sound a bit like Oasis, if Noel Gallagher was a successful international football manager. Rawbau are currently unsigned, but my guess is that Bilić has a plan: All he has to do is lead Croatia to Euro 2008 glory and have Rawbau play live as his players lift the trophy, thus giving his band the international exposure they deserve.
