Italian scandal special…

The tribunal’s verdict didn’t go down well with fans. Can’t blame them really. (The Guardian)

Inevitably, Juventus and Fiorentina will appeal against the decision. (Football365)

The scandal could also threaten Italy’s bid for the 2012 Euros and Rome’s 2016 Olympic bid. (The Guardian)

And over at the other scandal, Marco Materazzi seemed in good spirits after his disciplinary meeting with FIFA. (The Independent)

  • Fratelli d’Italia

    Good in patcha
    Against Ghana, Czeka, Ukraina
    None too convinsa
    Brilliant footballa
    Beating Alemania
    Overall rating, half thumba
    Damn Zidane, stole thundera!
    Star, asteriska!
    Go easy on the simulaccia
    And serie A match-fixa
    FORZA AZZURI FIRE-SALEA!

  • Joseph from Malta

The Italian World Cup winning team, all its players, had NOTHING to do with the scandal back in Italy.

However envious media, notably some UK tabloids, are maliciously trying to mix the two separate issues.

Well done Italy; not only for winning the World Cup,
but also for having the morality & COURAGE to seriously investigate any possibilities of unethical behaviour
(no, it wasn’t exactly a case of “match-fixing”, get the facts straight)
