Rosario Central was already negociating with ‘Chope before the WC. The goals against Germany were one thoought to ruin the transfers , as the player might have become too expensive (there were rumours of Corinthians wanting him).

I really hate the way that FIFA throws around and then retracts national bans willy-nilly, it basically undermines their authority since it makes clear they only put the bans on for people who challenge their power.
